I was looking for an abacus for my 7yr old grand-daughter who is in the first grade. She wanted an abacus to help her with her math homework. She loves to do her math homework with the abacus. I spent much time in checking many of the abacus reviews. This abacus had a lot positive reviews and that was the reason I purchased it. The abacus comes in a nice little sturdy box. What I liked about it and my grand-daughter loved that it is more than just an abacus. The back side of the abacus has a dry erase board and it is also magnetic. It comes with dry erase pen/eraser combo for her to write out their problems or just to draw. It also comes with these colored magnets in different colors and shapes. It also included directions for them to place the magnets so that they can make designs. I was a little worried about the size that it might be too small but it turns out to be the perfect size for her. It fits perfectly in her backpack to take to school or to just play with in the car. I will mention that the first one we received did have a cracked bead BUT as soon as I contacted Tony from aGreatLife he had another one sent to our home within two days. As I mentioned to Tony this happens in life but it is how it is handles that matters. I so appreciate how quickly Tony responded to my email and made sure another one was in the mail that same day. Tony kept in contact with me to let me know that he sent another one out to me and then followed up with me to make sure I received it. I would highly recommend that if you are looking for an abacus that this is the abacus you want to purchase.

I love the size of this abacus and the fact that the beads are different colors for every block of 5. It is hard to find an abacus with the 5's differentiated. The white board on the back is a nice feature.I had a problem with my abacus though. 1 day after taking it out of the box, one side of the abacus not glued well enough and it came apart Some of the dowels came off, and all of the beads. Boo.I was able to repair the abacus and it seems good as new - but surely any customer would prefer not having to reassemble their abacus.

I have two 8 year old granddaughters who love to play school and I bought two of these for them to use when they play school. I was really not expecting them to be so sturdy. They are very high quality and my babies are going to love them.

The people who make these are very very nice people running a small business. There were some very light fabrication flaws, but it is a very fun toy for my daughter. Definitely a keeper.

Needed this for a math challenged granddaughter. Easy to use. Great quality productthats perfect for learning.

I am very disappointed with the quality of this product. My daughter played with it within the morning and it already broke. The stick fell out, and the board is cracked... I will have to return this item...

Looks great and seems to be well made with good quality material. This is a gift for our granddaughter so we have not seen it in use yet. But, so far, all impressions are positive.
