A page turner mystery that I couldn’t put down
This was my favorite Jolie Gentil mystery yet! What I love about Elaine Orr’s mysteries is that the killer is introduced early in the book. The reader is given enough clues to figure everything out but the reader is torn between two characters, who have a strong motive to murder. Since the mysteries are a series like Sue Grafton’s “Alphabet” mysteries which I love, too; I feel like Jolie Gentil, her Aunt Madge, and Scoobie are long lost friends. This is an exceptional mystery with many twists and turns. I recommend it whole heartedly!

Jolie is at it again
I don't know how I missed this book when it was first released as I am a Jolie Gentil fan. Once again Jolie gets herself in trouble, when it does literally come to her doorstep. Jolie is a compassionate person, so of course she wants to find out who killed classmate Bill's brother Steve. However, in trying to help Bill she gets herself entangled in the goings on the local Senior Citizen, Retirement Residence. As a "South Jersey" resident who has friends along the shore whose lives were affected by Sandy I am especially sensitive to its affects and the author handled the devastation with such sensitivity and respect. I love the friends that Jolie has acquired through the books, including the somewhat gruff police captain who won't admit he values Jolie's contributions and his concern for Jolie's well being is evident. I always enjoy the interaction with Jolie aunt who in this book is away on a honeymoon and am looking forward to her wisdom in the next book. I am also looking forward to what will happen to Jolie's "romance" with George in the next book. I like the way Orr points out Jolie's need for more space and time from her recent divorce. Orr shows respect for her character and an understanding of Jolie's need.Another great read from Orr and once again I am anxious for the next in the series.

Pretty Good Cozy Mystery
Jolie is left in charge of Aunt Madge's B&B. She doesn't seem to be a great cook or muffin baker, but is a good amateursleuth and pretty good dog sitter. Thankfully, it isn't a busy season at the B&B.I have recently begun reading cozy mysteries. I like mysteries in general, can handle the CSI-like parts (ER nurse),but don't care for the foul language (passed off as realism) or the obligatory sex scenes in some novels. If I enjoyed reading romance novels or porn, I would download a book from that genre. I read mysteries for the twistand turns, character development, and what I can learn as the lead character figures out 'who done it'.I like Jolie, but not George. Is she dating him only because there are no other available guys five orten years on either side of her age?I think maybe Jolie, aunt Madge, Henry and Scoobie can be interesting enough to try another book in this series.

Great; fun to read; engaging
I've read all the Cozy Corner mystery series and this is the best. I bought the book the first day it was available but was so busy I had to wait to read it. When I finally put my income tax in the mail, I picked up the book and just started reading. I could not put it down; I stayed up all night reading it! The only other book I stayed up all night for was James Paterson "1st to Die," the first in his series of the women's murder club series. Orr's portrayal of the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy and a small town a distance from the center of the impact zone reminds me of my personal experience with Hurricane Andrew in South Florida in the 1990's. Even if you are not in the main impact zone, the nearby towns feel the effects in every aspect of life for years afterwards. I really enjoyed this book; I love the the characters, the clean humor, and just the day-to-day life and dialogue of good people.

Trouble again for Jolie
Enjoyed this book, as with all the others in the Jolie Gentil series. The book had the usual cast of characters and it was nice to see Jolie and George getting along. Personally, I could not imagine getting married at Aunt Madge's age, but you never know what life has in store for you. Jolie's life however, always has some sort of mischief due to her overly curious mind. The ending was a total surprise, never saw this one coming. Looking forward to more in this series, glad I started reading it!

Good Read
This was a good read. Not super excited about it; but I read so many books that I have to branch out a little. I liked the main character. Didn't like her boyfriend at all. I'd have kicked his butt to the curb. So that was a bit annoying. I was surprised at who the murderer was; but it made sense. I probably would have liked it more if I hadn't just finished all three of the "Morgue Drawer 4" series and found them just so awesome! But I did like this series and will by the next one (probably just to see if she dumps her stupid boyfriend).

A MUST Read!
My Favorite Cozy Mysery Series on Kindle, I could go on and on about why you should read it but at the price of these books in this series you should just give them a try and you won't be disapointed. You will become a Fan like me in no time, Check Out the Boxed Sets she has for an even better deal, Just search "Jolie Gentil" on Kindle and you'll find sets of two or three books at an even better price! So worth it, I'm a guy and even though these are cozy mysteries I still love them. Even my 50yo Dad likes the series a lot. Good for High Scholers and Up!

Really liked it
Hadn't read any of the Jolie Gentil series and will look for the others to read in the future. It was entertaining and while it's not great literature, that's not what I was looking for. I wanted an entertaining mystery story that kept me reading until the end and that's exactly what I got. Will look into Ms Orr's other books.
