Perfect for rear mounted CF to IDE adapters
I bought this because the IDE cable couldn't reach the adapter mounted at the back of the PC. This worked perfectly and I was able to reach and fit into the IDE port on the adapter.

Excellent and inexpensive and works!
I recently rebuilt my older gaming system that uses IDE hard drives cables into a new tower case and found my old cables would not long enough to reach the drives in their new location... I found this nice little extension cable and it solved all my issues! Its very we built and properly keyed to prevent incorrect installation and worked great for both my hard drives. I only need a few inches of extra cable and this gave me double that. Its a very effective product that does what its advertised to do. Thumbs up!

I had to get this extension to run to a CF card reader which has my Windows 95 on it instead of the ancient IDE hard drive from 1997.

Good quality IDE ribbon cable
I bought this for my Vintage PC project. It works, but unfortunately I missjudged the length and could not use it in my final project, but that is not the fault of the seller.

Not for Raspberry Pi projects
It's what it says it is. A little pricy though. But warning! If you're looking to use this for a Raspberry Pi project, which was my intention, just be warned it doesn't carry the current well. I was getting under voltage issues until I removed it.

IDE cable
Well made cable. Great for extension of a hard drive.

Hard drive is recognized but can't be read from.
Using this extension adapter my hard drive is recognized but it can't be read from. If I remove it and connect directly my hard drive works fine. So I am not sure if this item is defective or just poorly designed.

Does the job
I needed an extension IDE cable so I could connect an older IDE drive to a cloning device (the molex and IDE ports were too close). This did the trick.

I needed one IDE cable, and these are great. However I sent them back as they were just too expensive.

needed it to connect USB<>PATA adapter to shock mounted HDD in some legacy machinery and robots. shock mount prevents good connection and this is where this cable comes in. not sure why it costs so much but i was not in the mood to make my own.
