I have never had great success with yogurt until I tried this starter culture. I made mine plain and was very surprised at how thick, creamy, and flavorful the yogurt turned out. To start, I heat up the organic whole milk and keep it warm for about 30 minutes. I used the Euro Cuisine YM100 with a single large glass bowl for about 10 hours and it turns out perfect. Great product.

Have purchased this product three times. First two containers of capsules worked perfectly. Have used two capsules of the most recent order and both batches resulted in watery milk and not yogurt. Product has been stored in refrigerator since receipt, as culture should be, so can only assume cultures are inactive.

Llevo ya 3 semanas preparando yogurth con una misma cápsula que utilicé para preparar el primer lote. El resto de las cápsulas está en un lugar especial en el refrigerador. Llego a preparar de 4 a 6 litros de leche por semana y voy utilizando una porción del último lote para generar el nuevo. El yogurth es cremoso y muy bueno, la acidez se da según el tiempo de fermentación. Hasta el momento no he pasado de 10 días con el yogurth en el refrigerador, así que siempre está muy fresco, lo bueno es que todo es natural, como se debe.

I tried this to give Bulgarian yogurt a try. It tastes as good as store-bought, can't complain. I'm going back to BioGaia L. reuteri yogurt, though, I just thought that was a better texture and taste. But if you want Bulgarian yogurt, this was good, it worked, it did the job, and it was easy to make.

I had forgotten what homemade yogurt tastes like. This is it! And the fact that this really comes from Bulgaria is a bonus! I highly recommend this starter. Update Oct. 2018: I had some issues with a couple of bad batches - brown and inactive. Amazon quickly refunded my money and replaced. We talked about proper storage of the product - it is temperature sensitive. I believe storage issues have been addresses. The last batch was perfect. Thanks to Customer Support!

Storing at 0 to 20 degrees C should be in BOLD LETTERS not buried in the middle of the fine print instructions. I've used Yogurment in the past which is freeze dried and is stored at room temperature. After 6 months at room temperature the culture turned brown. I used it anyway and the milk had the consistency of yogurt but was not tangy. It tasted like whole milk. There was no brown color in the milk. Threw $20 away.

So many bacteria in such a tiny little bottle. The best starter we have ever had. It can be self renewed indefinately if made frequently.

Makes yummy yogurt, and guaranteed GMO free, however is hard to dissolve and consistently lumpy instead of smooth. I've been making yogurt for over 20 years and other cultures i use all make smooth yogurt so i'm not sure what the problem is. The mfg says it's the milk but it's not.

Lo uso per il mio yogurt, viene molto buono, dolce e non acido. Con 10 pastiglie produco fino a 75kg di ottimo yogurt.

J’ai acheté ce ferment en remplacement de préparations pour yaourts qui sont vendus en grande surface, mais qui ne sont pas naturelles (ajout de sucre ou autre produit en plus du ferment). J’ai eu le bonne surprise de recevoir un message, de la part du vendeur, contenant toutes les explications pour utiliser ce ferment et réussir ses yaourts. Tout y est, les conseils et recommandations sont claires et précises. Je me suis donc lancé en me disant que je verrai bien si j’y arrive. Le résultat est là. Les yaourts sont très bons.

Now on my fifth batch I can confirm this makes fantastic yogurt! This pack contains 10 capsules [individual portions] that you open and add to 2 litres of pasteurised milk when it has reached the correct temperature. It's really easy to make and once you've made one batch it's easy to make the next by using 2 tablespoons of your yogurt per litre of milk. Or if you've eaten all of your yogurt [easy to do] just use another capsule. The health benefits of Bulgarian yogurt is celebrated worldwide and the healthy bacteria so much more beneficial than the vast majority of probiotics we buy in capsule form plus it's delicious to eat, on it's own, with fruit or in raita, added to a smoothie, the options are endless and at a fraction of the price. Best of all I can now make Ayran at home which is the most thirst quenching, nutritious and delicious hangover cure ever! Mix 1/3 glass of yogurt, 1/3 water, 1/3 ice and 1/3 teaspoon of pink Himalayan salt. Of course you don't have to just drink it when you've got a hangover, Bulgarians drink it in huge quantities all day. It is a slightly acquired taste but by my third drink I was hooked so I am over the moon that I can now make this at home. Can't recommend this product enough, buy it and you will never buy shop bought, additive and sugar filled yogurt again!
