Pelican1500/1501 Upgraded 4 piece foam set. 1 convoluted lid foam, 2 middle pluck pieces, and 1 bottom pad.

Used this to refurbish a non-Pelican equipment case, and it went very well indeed.Most pleased.

This was a great deal. It was hard finding a set with these dimensions that came with pick n' pluck foam and a separate top and bottom solid piece. Great price too. I used them to line a heavy-duty tool box from Home Depot which is now a padded camera case for camera body, lenses and accessories. In all, I spent a 1/4 or less compared to the name brand camera cases and probably just as much for the cheap camera cases, but probably twice the quality and durability.

Perfect fit and you get two pluck and play. Just buy it.

These Pelican 1500 inserts are a real upgrade from the stock set. The foam is much more dense, so I feel that my small, irregular-shaped, fragile items can be safely kept with less foam between them. So, now I can fit even more in my case! And, the fact that these come in two layers, rather than one, makes it easier to pack items on top of each other.I’ve glued some of the plucked foam in a way so the entire top foam layer can be removed, without damaging any items. And, since the foam is dense, that entire layer holds up, to the point where I am comfortable removing it fairly often.The cut of these inserts also seem to fit my case even better than the stock set, though I did not notice any sizing problems with the originals.

Never had foam for my 1500 case, but this sure does work exactly as expected. The two layer portion was tricky to figure out, but I eventually got it. Made my rough cuts and I plan on solidifying parts of it in plasti dip. I do have excess space left in my case, guess I have to get a couple more pistols to fill up this case 🤷🏽‍♂️

Ease of use to fit equipment in

If I had to do this again, I would have opted for the single piece foam, not the split foam like this is. If you are lucky enough that all you have to do is cut the top piece of foam to mount your gear, this is OK. but I found that all of my camera gear required a cutout of the top piece, then a cutout of the bottom piece also. It would have been simpler to cut out the shape all of the way through one block, then cut that removed piece to the right height and glue it in place.

The replacement was easy to put in the case, easy to pluck the slots for my cameras, and when complete I painted with Plasti Dip (spray paint), which keeps the foam from breaking off with multi insertions. It looks really nice.
