This pasta is really different. It is not made with Durum wheat, but with Tumminia, an ancient variety of wheat native to Sicily the way Khorasan wheat is native to the Khorasan region of ancient Persia. Tumminia has a higher quality nutrition profile than modern wheat. It is also lower gluten, making it more digestible, but this also means it is not as springy or chewy. So, the key is to forget al dente and cook it well. Whole grain Tumminia has an earthy and soft flavor that goes well with the simple bold sauces of the cucina povera tradition, but is definitely a departure from the bouncy convention of modern Durum pasta.

Tasty and satisfying! Kid approved from ages 7- 19! I have been looking for a healthy alternative to white pasta due to the unhealthy affects of white flour. I have tried everything. From wheat, quinoa, to rice pastas found in the grocery stores. None of these come close to the quality of taste, texture, and satisfying feeling after eating Papa Vince's "wheat" pasta. It does not taste like the wheat we are used to in America! It is a bit pricey for pasta, but the quantity is large and the noodles are thick enough to satisfy not only the belly, but the mouth as well. You get the satisfaction of a full meal after only eating a small portion and that means savings on the famiky budget! No overeating with Papa Vince's pasta! And there is no "bloated, overstuffed feeling either! I am hooked on the quality and taste! I feel good about serving quality food to my family! And I do believe we either save money or.come out equal because we eat less of the product and not have to eat twice as much of the cheaper, less quality pasta products just to feel full!

We have never had such an absolutely delicious and nutritious pasta. Cooks beautifully. A bit pricey though, but worth it.

Papa Vince's pasta is unique for its appearance (the shape of a pasta makes a difference in how one perceives the taste) texture and flavor. You can prepare this beautiful pasta with a variety of sauces that cling naturally to its spiral shape. If you have been to Sicily you will immediately recognize that this pasta has been produced from the fields of golden wheat that are native to the Sicilian soil. It is obvious that the manufacturers of this pasta take a great deal of pride in their product. Having said all that, Papa Vince's pasta ranks very high in my critical Italian culinary mind. I have been privileged to have sat at the tables of fabulous Italian cooks, both in my immediate family and in restaurants both in Italy and Sicily. This pasta will please your palette. I've been buying it for the last three years. Today I made a typical Sunday, Italian meal: Pasta Vince's (al dente), marinara sauce, a dollop of sheep's ricotta cheese and pesto al basilico. You will not be disappointed. Ho fame!

SO glad to have found this Papa Vince Busiate Pasta! It’s now the ONLY PASTA my family wants because of it’s great TASTE & TEXTURE (which I would not have believed until we tried it) ! It’s way more flavorful than regular pasta PLUS way more nutritious, being high in fiber and protein. Seriously no junk in this and we’re not just eating empty carb calories so we can all enjoy pasta again with no guilt!

Tastes Great. Wonderful texture. -problem is, it is not low-enough in gluten. I still wound up with some gastric distress. But it was better than other brands. Unfortunately, I am non-celiac, gluten intolerant. Most pasta, all hot dog buns, all hamburgers, almost all bread sends me to the washroom to relieve myself within 10 minutes of consumption. This is a Great product. Just not for my system.

I bought the ancient grains pasta after reading positive reviews, but unfortunately I did not like the texture or taste of the pasta. To me the taste was similar to the cardboard taste of wheat pasta in grocery stores. I will not be buying again.

My doctor put me on a special diet that calls for the elimination of "regular" pasta, but I could eat whole grain pasta. I tried the whole grain pasta they had in my local supermarket. It tasted like cardboard. I tried the whole grain pasta from the well known health food store, and it wasn't much better, not even if smothered in sauce. I could get it down, but the meal was not enjoyable. I came across this pasta that specifically described it as not tasting like cardboard. I ordered some but was not home when it arrived. That night my wife made a delicate dish of pasta, tomatoes and chicken. It was very light; no sauce at all. It is one of my favorite dishes and ate everything on my plate and paid her a well deserved compliment. Only after that did she tell my it was the whole grain pasta I ordered. This pasta does not taste like cardboard; it does not taste funny; it simply is a wonderful pasta that I could not detect was anything other then my "regular" pasta. It's really, really good and I do recommend it very enthusiastically.
