Purchased this seat belt restraint for Daisy, our 60lb. one year old Labrador Retriever. Daisy loves to go to the park and play fetch, in fact, she loves it so much that she barks the whole way there and is constantly trying to get in your lap as we are driving. We had originally purchased a different seat belt that clipped directly into the car seat belt mechanism and had elastic in the restraint so it could stretch. Daisy is a powerhouse who could easily stretch the elastic so far that she could reach the front seat and would eventually pull hard enough to unlatch the seat belt completely. This restraint has worked perfectly. No longer can she stretch the restraint since it is made of vinyl covered steel rope. The device locks securely to the latch bar above the rear seat. The locking clip is very sturdy and secure so there is no way that she can pull the restraint out of the latch bar. This is an amazing product which helps to keep both her and us safe while driving in the car.

This sturdy. She chewed through a woven one we had previously but she doesn't touch this. It keeps her in the back seat so we can drive safely.

This is meant for use with a harness that has the D ring attachment at the dog's shoulders, not underneath on the chest. It hooks to the hidden attachments for car seats, not into the seat belt clip. This is safer for most dogs, because the ones that hook into the belt clips can be released by the dog accidentally. My dog also chewed up the one that hooks into the clip the second time I used it. This solved the chewing problem. If you have a dog taller than about 18 inches at the shoulder, though, it won't be able to stand while clipped into this restraint. I'm giving it only a 4 star rating because of this. I use this and a hammock style seat cover, and my dog isn't slipping all over the seat or falling into the floor when I am maneuvering in traffic. It really is a fine product.

Works as it should. My 65lb German Shephard is delivery truck reactive and very anxious in the car. Helps contain her, keep her safe, and helps me when I retrieving her (she could bolt otherwise).

I use this mainly in the summer when I drive my Jeep with doors and roof off. I feel secure knowing it keeps my dog in his place and he won't roll out or jump out. He's pretty well behaved but you never know. It is very sturdy and I trust it will keep him secure. It is long enough so that he has room to get up and walk to the other side of the backseat with no issues and he does not get tangled up in the cord. He cannot jump in the back. For reference I have a 2.5 year old 80 lb Husky Boy. Highly recommend!

We are doing in house training with our dogs and were asked to tether to their spaces in their sleep spots for brief periods to have all dogs learn to co exist in same space (two dogs want to "own" the couch/furniture), and avoid having to crate. This has been good to have no issues when relaxing together in the living room and having them on their respective dog beds, in place via the lead. The lead is not loud and clunky, and they cannot chew through it. They can move about the length of the lead for comfort. Good for the car as well to anchor them safely in their spot. Highly recommend.

This is a great leash and it's working very well for my dog. He has gotten it in his mouth once or twice, but after realizing he can't chew it, he doesn't bother it anymore. It is sturdy and well-made, and I don't think it would be too heavy for even small dogs. As others have stated, the size guide is an issue. I read reviews that said the leash was short, so I ordered a large even though I have a 25 lb. cocker spaniel. And I'm glad I did. This size allows him to both sit and stand in the back seat. But even with a large, I wasn't able to tether to the top latch, which was my preference, and still have him be able to sit comfortably, so I have to use an under-seat latch. This slightly compromises the room available for anyone sitting in that seat, but the seat can still be used when the dog is tethered, and overall I'm very happy with my purchase. It solves the problem I intended to solve, which was my dog chewing through the restraint. Just as with the sizing of some clothing lines, my advice would be to "order up." And maybe also consider not just the size of your dog, but the height of your back seats, if you intend to use the top latch.

My 14kg dog can chew through a regular dog car tether in less than 5 minutes. She liked having access to the wiring under the drivers seat to chew that. The lights lit up on the dashboard when this happened as various safety features were now disabled resulting in a bill of a few hundred dollars to repair. This metal tether has solved this problem completely. She hasn’t been able to chew through it & gave up trying to very quickly. If your dog is a chewer I recommend this product to keep you & your dog safe in your vehicle.

Bought this for my Mom's dog to keep it in the backseat. Works great and keeps her dog safely secured in the car. (She once jumped out of the car and ran into traffic.) Bolts securely to the car seat hook up and she's not going to chew through it like she did with her polyester leashes. Overall, a good, sturdy, quality product.

Brilliant, & he can't chew it, safe & sound
