Gorgeous Brushed Stainless Steel Peppermill That's Easy To Turn To Select From Fine To Coarse Grinds- Made In France
This Peugeot peppermill in brushed stainless steel is gorgeous and outstanding quality. It was a tough choice as to whether to buy one in wood or brushed stainless, but I'm so happy with the brushed stainless as it looks great and matches everything. The bottom turns to select the coarseness of the grind, and it's easy to use and provides a nice range of choices from fine to coarsely ground. This peppermill is easy to fill and works perfectly. I'm pleased with the 8-3/4" height as it's a good height to use while cooking, and it isn't too tall to use at the table sitting down. For me, any taller would make grinding pepper onto my plate from a sitting position awkward. I bought this peppermill for myself, but it would be a perfect gift for a wedding or other occasion. The only issue for me was that a plastic insert (that I assume is in the box to hold the peppermill in place) arrived shattered, so I had to pick little plastic pieces out of the bottom and groove for the selector part of the peppermill. But the peppermill is so nice and solid it didn't get scratched, and it was just a minor inconvenience. I think this Peugeot peppermill is top notch and am really pleased with this purchase. Made in France.Update 10/30/2017: My peppermill still works great and doesn’t ever jam even if I select a coarse grind. The only slight oddity I’ve noticed is that the top screw part that I have to unscrew to fill it seems to loosen up on its own, so I find myself needing to tighten it periodically. It’s no big deal, and I’m still really happy with this peppermill.

The Peugeot Paris is simply a perfect pepper mill. Excellent. Incomparable.
If you care about the flavor of black pepper, the ubiquitous dried berry table condiment and spice made from the drupes of the Piper Nigrum vine, or you just want an impressive decorative table ornament that works perfectly and enhances the joy of every meal, Peugeot will not disappoint. The quality of the grind is life changing for people who care about the taste of pepper. It's that important.By the way, this stainless unit was chosen as a workhorse kitchen tool, it looks stupendous on the table, and becomes a conversation piece as people first experience the flavor of superior pepper with a perfect grind.Whether you're buying the cheapest peppercorns you can find, or scrupulously selecting organic Malabar, if you appreciate the taste of black pepper, you will greatly appreciate the flavor released by the uniquely perfect grind of the Peugeot Paris.

This mill is quality.
As with so many others, I simply love this pepper mill.I'd grown very tired of the typical offerings found so commonly, the sort that works just great during the first week of use and quickly deteriorates to a frustrating experience of much work for little reward, quite similar to those pencil-thin crab legs found so often at all-you-can Chinese buffet restaurants.I passed on the wood models due to reports of cracks and splitting, even though I would have preferred wood over stainless. But it does not disappoint.I suspect the stainless may be capable of holding more pepper due to limitations of wood's strength. You'll easily get an adjustable grind output from nearly powder to cracked with a twist of the bottom section.Easy to fill, easy to twist, easy to adjust. No more of the center mechanism spindle flopping around and then trying to center it when filling: it's fixed in place!Seriously, this is the way to choose function over form.I mean, let's face it: most salt/pepper dispensers are typically chosen for their appearance, not their functionality. This unit provides the additional benefit of a classic form, combined with the durability of stainless steel. If you're reading any of these comments, you're just like me, and tired of the same old stuff.Stop reading, click on "Buy Now," and enjoy this when it arrives. Problem solved.

Looks pretty
Owing the Peugeot pepper grinder. This seemed like a no brainer. The pepper grinder is by far the best grinder I’ve used. It’s simply perfectThis salt shaker/grinder is terrible. Maybe it’s not meant for grinding salt. And only supposed to be used as shaker? The disposal ones that come with pink salt works much better….Im not sure how or why they missed this one.

Solid, attractive
I bought this pepper mill to replace a cheap battery-powered one that broke in 3 different ways before I gave up on it. I use this often for tellicherry peppercorns. It grinds well, with good output. It also looks great, feels solid in use, and should be durable in the long run. I really like it.Minor quibble: the smooth surface doesn't provide the best grip when grinding, but it's not a problem for me. If you have hand weakness it could be a problem though.A tribute to its toughness was that the mill arrived unbroken, since Amazon saw fit to ship it in one of their thin padded mailers. When it got here the product box was literally smashed into several pieces, the top of the grinder had come off, and the included peppercorns and other box pieces were floating around inside the envelope. Thank god it wasn't a gift! But the mill was unscathed despite Amazon's poor choice of packaging.

Very good, very sturdy - handsome - pepper mill - BUT....
This is very good, very sturdy, handsome - does the job quite well. BUT they don't seem to have made much improvement in the product over the last 50 or 100 years - or so! The top screw still comes loose after x-number of turns of the mechanism. Though, truth to tell, the resulting ground pepper comes out just right - depending on the setting of the grind - which also seems to move after several grinds. So it's a good product but could still be improved! Also - filling it is a bit of a chore (you have to unscrew the top and remove it to get the pepper corns inside) - whereas I would have thought they might have made that easier, too, over the years. But no. Still - a good, sturdy product that makes great ground black pepper! And handsome - and hefty - nice for the dining table when guests are present.
