Improved confidence in beginner writer
We have loved adding this to our kindergarten curriculum. My son has gained so much confidence in his handwriting since beginning this book and his handwriting has improved significantly.

Perfect for kids that don't like writing
My daughter is in 2nd grade this year (homeschool) and she has always struggled with writing neatly and then we found this book. We use the paper that has room for a picture on top and writing on the bottom. She loves writing about the animals and then learning to draw them. It is helping her so much.

... has dysgraphia and we are trying to make handwriting fun and a little less painful for all involved
My son has dysgraphia and we are trying to make handwriting fun and a little less painful for all involved. I saw this book at a homeschool convention and ordered it off of Amazon. My son loved it. He normally drags his feet about writing but he did a page in this book every day! It's the first book he brought out in the morning. The exercises are easy and don't take long to complete. We have finished book 1 and are now on book 2. This has been one of my best homeschool purchases!

I love these books!!
I love these books and my kids love these books they are great I just wish it was easier to draw with a pencil on the paper and paper tends to be a little shiny and difficult to see pencil marks but other than that I love it I just used tracing paper with a little bit of painters tape for the writing and for the drawings and kids Learn how to draw on tracing paper very important when getting to painting!

Good for drawing, not a handwriting book
This book is great for young beginners and those who need to work on their fine motor skills. It is not a handwriting program, and really doesn't emphasize letter formation at all. But the premise is that children really need to be taught to recognize basic shapes contained in objects to be able to draw the objects. This is not a skill that come naturally, and if not specifically taught, most children will become frustrated by not being able to reproduce what they are seeing in their vivid imagination. My son is four; most boys are not ready for real letter formation at this age, but need to work on fine motor skills to get ready for that instruction. This book provides that in a fun and interesting way. My son opened the book and we drew a pig right off. Later he came to me with another rudimentary pig her had drawn from memory. It seems this technique works in so far as helping a child break down an object into its basic shapes so it can be reproduced. I will use this as part of his continuing preschool/kiadergarten curriculum and will be buying the next level book. But will also need a handwriting curriculum to supplement it.

Wasn’t what I thought, but still great!
I has in my head that this books had pages for copy work and drawing inside (this was probably a misunderstanding on my part). Even though it is not what I was expecting, it is a really cute little addition to our homeschool. You will need a copy book to use along side this. Overall though I am very happy with this purchase.

Extra handwriting help for my first grader
My 6 year old was never into drawing, and handwriting has always been a struggle for him. One of the YouTube homeschooling moms I watch recommended this book on her video, so I thought I’d try it out as part of his morning starter. He does one page per day (Drawing and copy work) and is almost done with the book! He’s always so proud of his drawing when he’s finished, and it makes my heart happy that he doesn’t hate drawing/writing as much anymore. I will continue to purchase these books and would recommend to any child!
