Logitech Labtec Verse 524 Desktop Mic

It's cheap and it works well. What else can I say about something charged at a low price and that only has a basic-level function?

These things are getting to be incredibly hard to find, so if you're in the market for an old school, non-headset PC mic which uses the 3.5mm jack and not USB, get your hands on this while you can. I've had several over the years, but never took the best care of them. Luckily, all this time later I was able to track down this one on Amazon from a third-party seller who apparently had been warehousing this one for a very long time (the packaging said Labtec 2002!). I need it for my Duolingo practice. Anyway, it does the thing it's supposed to. It records sound cleanly, maybe not up to the standards of an audiophile podcaster, but it more than gets the job done.

cheap plastic construction and a very light weight base make this mic seem a bit "cheap and cheerful", but as a voice mic for gaming it delivers excellent sound (I have gotten comments on how good it sounds several times in game chat). The packaging is definitely shop/warehouse worn, but the actual product is perfect.

I have this mic as I do a lot of audio while on the PC, this handy and inexpensive mic is exactly what I need. I skype regularly and the mic suits this as well as other VOIP uses. I can also record voice notes very quickly and effeciently. No complaints so far.

I was looking for a mic for voice chat in game. The product is what I needed, great quality for the price, and easy enough to set up. comes with two different mounts. The base mount is a bit bigger than I would like, but there is also a stick side mount which can be put on a monitor, so its not too bad. Also keep in mind you will want to be about 1-2 feet away from the mic for it to be most audible and not sound muddy/ far off.

Lol hands down you get what you paid for. This is not a good mic. Lots of ghost noise and picks up back ground static

It's really not that easy to find non-headset microphones for computers anymore. I have issues with wearing most headsets, where they really just plain hurt sometimes. So, with the fact that I do voice chat for a lot of the games I play, I kind of need some type of microphone. This one works like a charm. I don't have any problems with echo or feedback. The little "monitor stand" is a little silly, as most monitors nowadays are flatscreen instead of the big bulky CRT monitors that were around when this was probably originally made, but the regular stand works fine with this, so long as you leave ample space on your desk for it, which isn't really all that much. I do recommend doing some testing to figure out exactly where this should be on your desk that's most comfortable for you. Other than that, it works.
