Worth every penny!
We park our cars outside and we recently had two incidents - rat bit and damaged the fuel line in my 18yr old Getz and couple of weeks later, it bit off the wiring in my wife’s Jazz. It’s not a matter of money, but rather the availability of the damaged parts and of course, the downtime. First I tried to eliminate the rat, but when I couldn’t I moved to creating a deterrent. Tried naphthalene balls, tobacco and eventually settled for spraying the engine bay with 3M rodent repellent. This was effective, but one day I saw rat droppings on the engine of the Jazz and attempted bite marks on my Getz’s fuel line. This meant the rats were revisiting and I needed to keep spraying the engine bays regularly. This is not always feasible, so I started looking for more permanent solution. I researched for devices that could be installed in the car that would keep the rats away. That’s when I came across Carcat. Went through their website in detail, read customer reviews on Amazon and other sources. One thing I realised is that the company has really put a lot of thought into their product, including researching on vermin behaviour and how to improve the product to counter the vermin menace. I didn’t find any other product which gave such detailed explanation on the problem and how the product was going to help deal with it. Sure, it’s expensive, but think of the ROI. Changing the wiring harness in the Jazz costs 17k, and if the ECM is damaged, add another 25k to that. Now imagine you having to change this frequently. In the case of my Getz, it was grounded for 7 weeks because I couldn’t find the replacement part! I had to finally source it from outside the country! So that’s that. Also, the product has nifty features, like turning off when the engine is started and the standby mode (when you go on vacation). It’s easy to install, just follow the instructions provided (which is pretty detailed I must add); it took me all of 30mins to find the spot to fix it, drill holes and finish the wiring. Adding the pictures and videos of the install done on our Jazz; one of the videos is the device disengaging when the engine is started and another one of the light works inside the engine bay when the bonnet is closed. I installed the device three days back and so far it’s doing its job. You may ask why this detailed review - well, I’m sure there are folks out there with the same predicament I was in and need a no-BS review, so here it is. I’ve purchased a second device for my Getz, which I’ll be installing tomorrow. And no, this is not a paid promo; I wish it was, but it isn’t. Hope this helps. Update: couldn’t upload multiple videos as Amazon doesn’t allow it. So, put all three in one. Enjoy. Update 2: It’s been more than a month since I installed the Carcat in both our cars and I’m happy to report that there have been no intrusions in the engine bay nor any untoward incidents with the car involving the vermin. No, it is not that they’ve migrated to Canada; I still see them scurrying about (big fat ones) - they just don’t mess with our cars. So, all in all a great product and a worthy investment.

Carcat Repellent System: Finally, Peace of Mind Under the Hood!
Carcat Repellent System: Finally, Peace of Mind Under the Hood! Five Stars: Solved My Rodent Problem Instantly! For months, I was dealing with a nightmare scenario: rats and mice constantly nesting and chewing wires under the hood of my car. It was stressful, expensive, and a recurring issue. I tried sprays, traps, and even home remedies, but nothing worked. That is, until I installed the Carcat Rat Repellent System. Installation: Easy and Quick The biggest relief was how simple the installation was. I'm not a mechanic, but I was able to set it up myself in less than 15 minutes. The instructions were clear, and the unit connects easily to the car's battery. It’s built well and feels durable, which is exactly what you want for something living in the engine bay. Effectiveness: Immediate and Absolute Since installing the Carcat system, my rodent issues have completely vanished. I haven't seen a single sign of droppings, nesting material, or—most importantly—chewed wires. The dual defense of ultrasonic sounds and flashing LED lights seems to be incredibly effective at making the engine bay an unwelcome zone for pests. The system is silent to human ears, so it provides peace of mind without any annoying noise. It intelligently manages the power, so I never worry about it draining my battery, which is a huge plus for daily drivers. Why Carcat Stands Out Zero Damage: Not a single wire has been nibbled since installation. Easy DIY Setup: Simple connections, no special tools needed. Battery Saver: Smart power management prevents battery drain. Effective Dual Technology: Ultrasonic waves and deterrent lights work perfectly together. If you are a car owner who has ever dealt with rodent damage, stop wasting time and money on temporary fixes. The Carcat Rat Repellent System is a fantastic, long-term investment that provides immediate and lasting protection. Highly, highly recommended!

Not Effective in the Long Run and not worthy
After using this device for a few months, I wanted to share my experience. Initially, after installation, there were no signs of rats in my car bonnet, and I thought the device was working well. However, after a few months, the rats seemed to get used to the sound and returned. They ended up damaging the wiring inside the bonnet again. This is exactly what happened in my case - while it worked well at first, later on, I discovered that several wires had been chewed, and I had to take the car to a service center for repairs. I had relied on this device for protection, but unfortunately, it didn’t provide a long-term solution. I hope this review helps you decide whether or not this product is worth buying.

Not worthy, waste of money
I got this device to avoid rat, but I see it is not that effective rats were coming seemlessly and they even tried to bite this device wire itself. I got another device via https://amzn.in/d/b6mlHWK Now I have both devices but I see my second device is really effective and so far no entry of rats. Conclusion: This device is not effective and not worthy for 4k, waste of money
