Great Expectations: Part 2: Mandarin Companion Graded Readers Level 2

Another great book from Mandarin Companion. It's difficult to find graded readers that use traditional characters so I was happy when I found this series. I purchased the entire level one series and was very happy with it. I hope that the publisher continues to publish in both traditional and simplified characters. The books track the main portions of the stories as they were written but update them with Chinese settings. I went ahead and bought the simplified version for kindle but I'll certainly buy the traditional one when it becomes available.這本書真有意思！

Again, great book and just what I need at the level I am in my Mandarin learning journey. Lot's of familiar vocabulary and grammar to keep me reading "extensively" but also enough new vocabulary and grammar to keep me learning. Would highly recommend all of the Level 1 books and this one if you are serious about learning the language.

The book tells an interesting story with a limited vocabulary. I recommend it.

If you read my review of Part 1, you'll know what I think of this series as a whole. This Part 2 of the Great Expectations series completes the story in a modern China setting (Shanghai). Fun characters, great illustrations and very well put-together.

If you learn Chinese and love good reading you'll find the book very useful and entertaining. Even if you read the original book this book will be felt like a new one because of the skilful adaptation they made.

I've been using the mandarin companion books for practicing Chinese, and it's been my best experience so far. This sequel was both engaging and challenging without becoming tedious.

A very well-constructed story at level HSK 3-4 based on Dickens' Great Expectations but updated for a world of skyscrapers and cellphones. Because I never read the Dickens version, this was suspenseful for me. Emotionally the story made sense, and the full-color illustrations added to the story's appeal. The writing was just a bit repetitive in style, but that helps with language learning, so that was fine with me. I wish there were higher-level Mandarin Companion readers to move on to. This is a very high-quality series, strongly recommended.

I really enjoyed part 1 and 2 and I would recommend them to anyone. Thank you for all the hard work and I look forward to all your future books.

A carefully written book geared towards level 2. New words are translated using footnotes so you don't have to keep looking in a dictionary.The language is simplified such that a level 2 reader will find it enough of a challenge but not a mountain to climb.

A very interesting story and easy to follow. Love how clean the story connected the characters in the book. Not one left behind

Great Expectations: Part 2 erzählt die Geschichte von 吴小毛 zu Ende und behält das Niveau von Teil 1 bei.Wer Teil 1 mochte und wissen will wie es weiter geht, der wird von diesem Buch nicht enttäuscht werden.Die Geschichte selbst ist 77 Seiten lang.Ich wünschte nur Mandarin Companion würde noch schneller weitere Bücher dieser großartigen Serie veröffentlichen.
