This is the perfect kettle for me
This is the perfect kettle for me. It holds about 4, 8 oz. cups of water. Heats up in less than three minutes. It does shut down after it heats up completely, which I love. But the water stays boiling hot for about 5 minutes after it turns off and reheats very quickly. The cord is about 20 inches long, good quality and thick. The plug is a three-prong. The base that the pot sits on is very light weight and seems flimsy at first, hard to lay flat on the counter. It's just because of the thick cord having been wrapped under the base, so it's curvy. After a couple rounds with the pot full, it lies completely flat even without the pot sitting on it. The only thing I could say to make the pot better is the red light on the pot to let you know that it is heating - but also to let you know that it has automatically shut off. The light is not very bright, only a slight difference in on / off color. I put the pot in several spots in my kitchen, thinking that it was a room lighting issue, but even in the darkest corner, the red light is very dim when on. This is not an issue with me, but may be for someone else. Other than that, I am very satisfied with this pot. Beautiful finish and easy to clean.

Excellent and Quick
We originally bought this tea kettle for our college student. It is attractive with its gooseneck for pouring and its stainless steel body. It automatically shuts off when the water has reaching a boiling point so no worries about accidentally leaving it on. I also like that when you pick it up to pour your tea, the bottom is completely cool so you can place it on any surface without fear of ruining a table, desk or other places you might set it down. It only takes a couple of minutes for the water to boil and makes 2 large size mugs of tea. I have also used it just for the boiling water feature. We liked it so much that when our college student returned to school after the holidays with his tea pot, we “gifted” ourselves with one as well! Works great!

This is a very good value for the money.
The Zell electric kettle is well-finished, reasonably sturdy, hasn't discolored or dented in over one week of daily use, boils water within 5 minutes, and dispenses water in a thin, steady stream. The cord in the base is heavy-duty and can be adjusted for length to reduce clutter. The only two things I would ding it for are minor: 1) The pop-up lid doesn't always pop up. I have to use more aggressive thumb action than should be necessary. 2) The indicator light is only on the side shown in the photo. If you have the spout pointing right, as you would if you are a lefty, there's no light. On the other hand, the little On/Off lever below the handle automatically pops up to shut off the kettle when the water reaches a boil, and that's visible no matter which way you have the handle pointed, so the light is redundant anyway. In short, I'm glad I bought it; I never realized before how pleasant something as simple as a pour-over for coffee could be.

Boils water in 5 minutes or less
I've been very pleased so far with this electric kettle. My favorite thing about it is that it will bring a full kettle of water to a boil in 4.5 to 5 minutes, which is twice as fast as my stove top Hario Buono v60 kettle comes to a boil. I originally purchased this kettle in anticipation of taking it with me when I travel because I'm a bit of a coffee snob and prefer to make my own pour overs as opposed to drinking middle of the road coffee when I'm on the road. (Yes, I travel with my kitchen aid burr grinder, v60 dripper, v60 filters, scale and now, this electric kettle). To my surprise and pleasure, it looks like I'll be using this kettle daily both at home and on the road. I read a couple of reviews on this product that stated that the electric cord was too short but the cord on my kettle is probably 2 feet long, which for me at least, is plenty to be able to plug it in and leave space around it. From a function perspective, it's dead simple to use. Simply push the lever down beneath the handle, then the light at the bottom of the kettle turns on. When the water reaches a boil, (you'll hear it as it gets closer and closer), the lever pops up and the light turns off. Then your ready to start your pour over. I recommend this product highly.

Works well so far! I use it with my v60 and kalita at my office.
I enjoy a good cup of coffee. The gold standard in the coffee world for brewing is the v60. However you do need some special equipment before you can have good results. A gooseneck kettle is one of a few critcal items you must have. I currently have the hario gooseneck kettle at home and this one at my office. It boils water quickly (2 min tops) and gives good control of the flow of water. The inside is completely stainless steel and I have not noticed any off-taste from the water. It has some nice features such as the auto shut off and the cord wrap on bottom. The cord wraps up into the bottom piece and is handy if you plan to travel with it or put it up in storage. Overall this is a good kettle and gets the job done.

Wonderful Kettle BUT... it has some glitches
I purchased this kettle back in April 2017, it worked great and has been terrific for making my daily cup of coffee or tea since then, it's now Jan. 2020. After about 6 months, the button for opening the lid stopped working properly, but it wasn't a deal breaker. When pushed it loosens the lid and I pop it open the rest of the way with my finger, no problem. Unfortunately, about 6 months ago the third prong on the plug fell out. Surprisingly, it still works, but interwebs say I need to either replace the pot or the plug itself, because it's not "grounded" anymore and it *could* cause an electric shock. I've checked out the youtube videos on how to replace the plug, but I don't have the tools I need: a wire stripper and an electrician's screwdriver. So, spend the money on new tools and take the time to try and fix it myself, or just buy a new pot, maybe from a different company? I don't know. What would you do?

Surprisingly great kettle
There are other electric kettles suitable for making pour over coffee on Amazon that cost more, but this one works great. It heats water super-fast (2-3 minutes) and provides a easy to control stream of water in a pour over coffee cone. It shuts off automatically when the water boils. It's a shiny (not matte) stainless steel and looks nice on the counter. At this price point, you can't go wrong if you need an easy to use pour-over electric kettle.

Good kettle, but not quite as useful as I'd hoped
This is the second goose-necked electric kettle that I've owned. It holds between 0.5 liters (2.1 cups) minimum and 0.8 liters (3.3 cups) maximum. These fill lines are imprinted on the inside side of the kettle. I didn't realize that it'd have a minimum amount, and you're not supposed to allow water to just sit in the kettle. I pour the water over my loose-leaf tea, and the jar I'm pouring the boiling water into is cold. Immediately after pouring the boiling water into the jar, the water measures at 195F. If I'm doing a green or white tea, this works ok. However, I have to use the first cup of boiling water to warm the jar (pour off that water, put in the tea, pour the still-hot water over the leaves) if I want a chance at the water being hot enough to make black teas. There is no plastic inside the kettle, but the top of the lid (on the outside) is plastic and the steam vents through this plastic. It creates a bad smell, but the boiled water doesn't have a bad taste. This kettle creates a lot of steam, so steam pours out of the vent and out along the sides of the lid for a few seconds at the end. The neck is fashioned so that the water arcs as you pour, so you have to learn how to aim it. I usually have to hold the handle pretty high to get all the water out, and even then a little remains. I just leave the lid up and it evaporates off. Also, while not a problem, the kettle doesn't always settle correctly on the power base. I have to make sure that it's fully settled down on the base before starting it. I've used this kettle about 4 times a day for 6 months before writing this review. The auto-shut-off didn't work 15 days ago. It just kept boiling and steaming up a storm. I happened to be standing nearby and shut it off. The auto-shut-off has worked every single time since then, but I'm now reluctant to do anything but watch the kettle while it's heating the water.
