Is the expiration date really 1/13?

No, every seller has their own expiration date. Last one I got was 6/17

Did this product actually expire Jan 2013?

No it's still good, my expiration is 2015. Yes, it is more difficult to find so I order it by the dozen!

Why is this product so expensive on Amazon? I can buy this for 99 cents per unit at my local grocery store.

We have found it much cheaper by bulk (6 or more) on Amazon than at any of our local stores.
