Worst laptop I've ever owned
I bought this on the strength of the brand name, & its impressively powerful spec.Like most laptops these days it has a very good screen, nice enough keyboard, and a decent size touch pad.If you are toting it around a lot you will find it's rather heavy. If you use it on your lap/tummy without a protective board underneath it gets REALLY hot. Hot enough to mark your skin. The touchpad is extremely sensitive, and if it's a big directory with more than a single buffered page scrolling is very difficult to control, regardless of settings. The thing that would stop me is the Dell power supply. This use a high power unit, 20v, and it's total garbage. I've gone through two of these, with a life expectancy of ca. 7 months on average. Despite the Sale of Goods Act Dell don't want to know. There isn't even a Customer Service phone number after iirc 30 days. They just don't connect you.The problem is their use of a really cheap USB C for power connection. It's just not up to the job for a 20v power unit imho. The USB C failed on both. And replacing the power unit is expensive. All for the sake of a 20p connector. So a great laptop on paper, but spoilt by Rookie design errors and appalling - non existent Customer Service.Buy something else.Update: Dell did finally respond to various tweets, and went through a diagnostic process with me. As a result they said that I needed a new motherboard because my laptop wouldn't boot up with an empty battery, and I should send it in for a new one (!)I used a 5v Power Bank to charge up the battery overnight, and I'm writing this update on my supposedly failed laptop now. Working perfectly when powered.Dell are a big disappointment. It's the USB C connector failed, again.I've ordered my THIRD power supply which is arriving before lunchtime today. Thank goodness for Amazon.
