Artist Brush, Neptune Series 4750, Synthetic Squirrel Watercolor Paint Brush, Mottler, Size 2 Inch

I've been using this brush for some time and it seems to be a quality brush , keeping it's shape and not shedding .Creates nice watercolor washes and has good water retention.

There was a fair amount of sizing on the brush and I had to soak it. The sizing didn't stink like it does on some brushes. It works very well and the small size makes it easy to navigate on the paper. I like Princeton brushes and I am willing to pay more for quality. I am not a professional artist, but I have some expensive brushes, and they outperform the knock-offs.

A brush to add to your stash!

Superior for washes, holds lots of paint and water . Looses bristles often which I do not like but when you've used it for a while this bristle loss stops. Not great for big washes

I paint with people who use this exact brush. It turns out to be more adaptable than I expected. Holds water well. Has a sharp edge Soft but has push back. Finally got the 1 1/2 inch and love it. Short handle does not bother me

I am so impressed by the quality of this brush. The sky washes came out so well. The brush is super soft that does not disrupt prior layers upon subsequent washes. I am planning to buy a 1 inch wide brush from Neptune. Highly recommended.

I love wetting big areas with this brush. Holds water well and it's comfortable to hold.

This brush was unexpectedly small- the side of an extra wide popsicle stick both in length and width. I have mottlers from other brands and was a little surprised by the petite size of it, but it works well and handles water and paint beautifully, especially for large washes, broad swathes of colors, and adding in dabs of diffuse color when painting wet into wet. I probably will continue to look for an extra soft synthetic mottler that is more a traditional paintbrush size just for the control factor, but I do enjoy using this one.
