Full bodied but light and aromatic cup - especially when brewed in pour-over style.
Possibly the best 'rsik' I've ever taken on buying a coffee I had not previously tried. I purchased it based on the specific location in Brazil where these beans are from, and that a light roast was promised. I had tried another roaster's beans from the same region and fell in love with it. And I was not disappointed. This is full bodied, rich, aromatic - nothing (overly) 'light' in the taste (only in comparison with the roasted-in-an-ashtray-tasting coffee often used for Americanos), and yet there's a spaciousness in the taste to allow sublte hues to shine through. There's a much appreciated, beautiful marriage of mellow and robust here, as well as a comforting chocolatey aftertaste.

You have got to try this if you love coffee
I have tried a lot. Missions trip in Oaxaca Mexico back with locals that had 4 - 6 poles and thatched roofs. The people were some of the kindest we have ever met. Smelling coffee, I asked for some. Was invited in as a woman was roasting beans. Was offered some roasted the day before. This is as close as I have come to that day. Silky smooth, no acid, bursting with coffee flavor, slight chocolate hint with floral fruity notes. Though I do like Expresso now and then this is Truly the best coffee I have found thus far. I ground my own beans, but don't let that get in the way if you don't have a grinder. Even a magic bullet will do well, or order it ground.

Costa Rican husband loves it
My Costa Rican husband LOVES this. It’s rich and bold and full of flavor. I on the other hand am from Texas and I do not like it lol. It’s too rich for me and almost tastes sour(?) It grinds very well. I did have to grind it a little longer than some other beans I’ve used.

Great tasting household favorite at a great price
Like others have said I'm no coffee coinsure but I appreciate a truly good cup of coffee and I feel that this brews into a great cup.I was actually a little surprised how much the three of us in my household enjoy this coffee. I'm not sure why, but I had expected this coffee to be closer to Folgers than something found on a shelf of coffees with a higher price tag. To be honest I bought this coffee because of the reviews here, and the price. But what really inspired me was seeing a TV show that highlighted the coffee from this region. I looked this coffee up on the internet and what I found was that it's well respected, but still felt the show was probably exaggerating a little. Eventually I decided on the two pound bag of the whole bean and placed in an airtight container thinking I would use it when as a fill in when one of our favorites ran low or use it as a change up. But my wife took the container out looked at the coffee, smelled it and decided to give it a try right off, and it's become one of the few coffees we keep on hand.So the three of us really enjoy this coffee, we've used three different brewing methods and in our opinion it works great in each. The first time my wife brewed this, she used the a Chemex 6 cup Slow drip method, and it has a wonderful rich clean taste without any hint of bitterness. In fact it seems to produce more of a slightly sweet taste, rather than anything approaching bitterness. We've also used a French Press and it works very well in the French press, but my personal favorite method is done with the AeroPress. When brewing this coffee with the AeroPress I keep pretty close to the instructions that come with the device. I do use a little more coffee than the instructions suggest, finding that the two slightly rounded scoops and about a half of another make a fantastic cup of coffee. Another reason I prefer using the AeroPress with this coffee is that it's dark enough to make a decent espresso. It's not going to be like using one of the truly dark roast coffees, but the flavor is very rich and enjoyable. in my opinion many medium roast coffees just do not lend themselves as well to this type of deeper extraction, not able to go beyond certain limitations.Over all this has become a favorite in our home, with a rich unique taste that is versatile enough to do well no matter which brewing method you might prefer. Finally yes I would recommend this to friends and family

A very pleasant surprise.
I'm very pleased with this coffee. I keep several varieties of whole bean on hand so I can switch up my coffee when I feel like a change of pace. I have been using other brands of Colombian Supremo for a long time and it's hard to beat a good cup of Supremo. I wasn't completely satisfied with the others I had tried, they weren't bad but I knew there was better coffee to be had so when I worked my way through a bag of whole beans I'd order something else -- making my decision based on reviews and the percentage of 4 and 5 star ratings.I stumbled across this coffee and thought "why not?" It gets good reviews except for a few sour apples that are always present on any product. So I went ahead and ordered it, feeling that at this price there was little to lose and with the great reviews there might be a lot to gain.I'm glad I ordered this coffee because finally I'm satisfied with my stock of Colombian Supremo. I had bought several bags of Colombian Supremo and then moved on without reordering any of them. I'll be ordering this one again. It's always possible that I got a particularly good bag, that someone else didn't get a good bag, or that any single bag of beans isn't representative of a brand. One needs to bear such things in mind when ordering coffee beans online. It's not like you can taste the coffee before buying it. Still, none of the others I've tried in the last couple years was as good to my taste as this one so I'll try this one again.Another thing to keep in mind is that flavor is not an absolute. There are individual variances in the taste experience so what appeals to me may not appeal to others and vice-verse. I find this brand from the bag I got to be very full bodied and smooth with no bite and no bitterness. It's what I'm looking for in a Colombian Supremo and that is a very happy discovery. Especially being as it's significantly cheaper than other coffees that don't taste as well to me.Rather than write another review, if my experience with this brand changes for the worse I'll come back here and amend this one. If you don't see a dated update below then what I have to say about this coffee still stands.Update 17 March 2015: I noticed my stock of this coffee was running a little low, it's been six months since I bought this bag so I thought maybe some people would like to know how it stores and tastes after that amount of time. Bear in mind that I store all my coffees in air tight opaque containers, that's important if you're going to keep several varieties of coffee on hand and not use up any one variety quickly. I also store my coffees, pipe tobacco and cigars in a temperature and humidity controlled environment That probably isn't a big issue with air tight containers, I just have room for my coffees where I store my tobaccos. I know the "freshly roasted" snobs are going to turn their noses up so if you're one of them, go ahead and stop reading right now. I don't care what you have to say because taste is more important than theory to me. I know what tastes good to me, I won't benefit from anyone telling me that what I like I can't possibly like because blah, blah, blah. This coffee has stored extremely well. It has gotten even smoother and more mellow with storage but is still as bold as when I first opened the bag and dumped it in a container. This may be why some folks say a new bag doesn't taste like the one they got before, if the coffee has had time to mature between when the bag was first opened and when the new, freshly roasted bag was opened then there's going to be a difference in taste. I have enough of the first bag left that the bag I'm having delivered today will sit in it's air tight container for a while; but just to experiment I'll brew a pot with beans from the new bag when it comes to see if there's a difference.I'll try to come back and update this review when I've had time to evaluate the new bag of whole beans. So far I'm very pleased with this coffee and it's the only Columbian Supremo that I've ordered more than once from Amazon. If the new bag is as good as the first one I'm probably done searching for Supremo. If not, I'll let everyone know.
