Great DSLR for video streaming
For streaming through OBS, great. Don’t even need a capture card; Canon has software you can install for free which makes it work very well as a webcam. HOWEVER. For work, I can’t install that software on my laptop, so I use a capture card. Without the webcam software from Canon, the camera does still auto-shutoff every 30 minutes. This is not the case when I use it for streaming on Twitch through the software. The auto-shutoff is unfortunate and a little disruptive in meetings, but the camera is easy to turn off and turn back on quickly to fix it. My coworkers have come to expect it and some even use it as a humorous timer for how long our meetings go. On the flip side, I do have far and away the clearest, highest quality video output.Shoots 1080p at 50fps and 4k at 25fps. I have an adapter to replace the battery. The HMDI output IS CLEAN when using manual focus. Auto-focus will cause the white auto-focus box to follow you, albeit I did not test that within the Canon webcam software. I only speak from using it at work with my capture card. When the camera first turns on, it shows a little “busy” icon but that disappears in 1 or 2 seconds and then the display is clean. If it’s not, you just have to click through the “Info” button until it is. Simple and intuitive Settings UI.My biggest disappointment is the auto-shutoff otherwise, I love the camera for streaming.

The automatic built-in flash did not work.
The automatic flash did not work. There is no option to trade it in for another one. In addition, I must pay to mail it back and I must pay a minimum of a 20% restocking fee, as I opened the battery, the battery charger, the card, and the bag up in order to test it. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS VENDOR!
