Fantastic Heavy Cream Powder for Ice Cream and Cooking!
I recently purchased Hoosier Hill Farm Heavy Cream Powder (2LB) and I’m beyond impressed with its quality and versatility! I’ve used it to make homemade ice cream, and the results were absolutely phenomenal—rich, creamy, and perfectly smooth texture every time. It dissolves easily and adds that luxurious creaminess without any fuss. Beyond ice cream, I’ve incorporated this powder into various dishes, from creamy pasta sauces to decadent soups and even baked goods. It’s a game-changer for recipes that call for heavy cream, especially since it’s shelf-stable and so convenient to have on hand. The flavor is spot-on, with no weird aftertaste, and it blends seamlessly into everything I’ve tried. The 2-pound pack is a great value, and the resealable bag keeps it fresh for multiple uses. I love that I don’t need to worry about running out of fresh cream anymore. Hoosier Hill Farm has nailed it with this product—highly recommend for anyone who loves cooking or making desserts at home! I’ll definitely be repurchasing.

Good cream, good company
I love this stuff! The flavor is good, maybe a little sweeter than fresh cream. I put it in coffee, and also use it for cooking. (I never have milk in the house. If a recipe calls for milk, I use half cream and half water.) I bought it for camping and for emergency prep; but I use it at home sometimes, just to finish off the jar before it expires. It keeps for a year or more even after the container is opened. When it turns yellow, I figure it's time to throw it away and get more. Mixing it is kind of funny: the powder is so light, it floats on top of the water for quite a while. If you want to make one pint of cream, use a 2-pint container with a tight-fitting lid. Then you can get the cream and the water in there, close the lid, and shake it. It will take an hour or so to fully rehydrate. Giving it another shake every 10-15 minutes will help. I've also ordered cheddar cheese powder, and several kinds of dried vegetables, from this company. I've been happy with all of them. Amazon had some trouble with my last order, but the nice folks at Hoosier Hill got it straightened out. Bon appetit!

Decent for a powdered crea
I like to keep powdered non perishable creamer on hand for when I run out of my half and half. However, I don't like all of the artificial additives in most powdered creamers. This one has very few added ingredients and tastes just fine... maybe not quite as nice as half and half but better than a lot of the fake powdered creams that I have tried. The only drawback with this is it doesn't dissolve instantly but luckily I have a little whisk that works just fine to incorporate the cream into the coffee. However, while sipping my cup of coffee, there is a fair amount of Creamer floating around the top, but that is easily stirred to incorporate again

High Quality Product.
My husband and I bought this for a camping trip because we like cream, real cream in our coffee, I had tried powdered milk, but I may as well be adding water to my coffee, and so we looked in to buying some powdered cream and this was the best deal that we could find. I really like that the ingredients are just freeze dried cream, nothing more. I was a little bit weary of the taste, I thought it might taste weird, being it is dried, so I gave it a few different test to see how it fared. I first tried it with instant coffee, and it had a weird taste to it, and I was not impressed with the flavor of the cream, it tasted like cooked cream essentially, and I was very underwhelmed. Then, I tried it with real coffee, fresh brewed, and I had quite a different experience, it taste just like normal cream, maybe not really fresh cream, but it was perfect. I had it 3 days in a row like that, and it was perfect every time. I went back home and tried it with instant coffee again just to see what it would be like, and the answer is that it was definitely the instant coffee, it was the same as the first time I tried it. If you use this with an instant coffee, use it with a high quality one, mine was not, and it effected the flavor of the cream. As others have stated, it works best for mixing if you initially mix it in a small amount of liquid(preferably hot) before incorporating with your whole batch of anything. You don't need to make a paste, but about 4 parts water to 1 part cream should be good for mixing initially. I will definitely be ordering this again for use while traveling with my coffee, I am very impressed with it, and I plan on trying some of this companies other stuff as well, I am excited to do so, I hope they are as good as this cream. God Bless ~Amy

Great Heavy Cream Powder
I recently bought Hoosier Hill Farm Heavy Cream Powder and the only thing I regret is buying the 1LB version instead of the 2 LB version. This product looks, smells, and taste just like the heavy cream that I buy in the supermarket. I’ve used it soups, pasta sauces, and baking, and all my dishes came out great. It really saves money since I don’t have to worry about having unused heavy cream spoil and I don’t have to rush out and buy a bottle, or a carton, when I need it. I’ll definitely buy this product again. Very highly recommended.

Not what I was hoping for
After reading the reviews, I thought I would try this product. I bought a frother, as all the reviews pointed to the importance for mixing. I made my first batch with my purified R/O water, and even warmed it up in the Microwave. It blended well and I used more powder than I thought I would, but I was looking for a rich taste and not watery. It did thicken up a bit, but the taste just was not what I expected. I added a little salt that helped just a bit, and then figured it would be better after a night in the refrigerator. In the morning I used it with my rich coffee and it did not look as creamy by a long shot as regular half and half like I am use to. I added some more, more than I would with half and half, and it just does not taste or look like what I am use to. I did have to shake it up first, and it had a little bit of granular texture even after sitting overnight in the refrigerator. I was actually disappointed, since I have had success with using powdered cheese in the past. If you are thinking this will save you money, I don't think you will. I tasted it as a powder, and it just doesn't taste that great. Nice container, nice powder consistency, nice price, but I am going to go back to the real thing. In conclusion, it probably tastes kinda like the powder cream that comes in packets in hotels. Perhaps it is great if you want zero or low fat in your coffee cream. You don't know unless you try it, so I did. I will not be buying this again.

My taste test of four main brands of Heavy Cream Powder
I ordered the four main brands of heavy cream powder I could find, mixed all and did a taste test straight, as well as mixed with my favorite powdered milk (Peak) to create a "half and half". In order from best to worst these were my preference: 1. Judee's Heavy Cream Powder - closest to the mild sweet taste of fresh cream 2. Anthony's Heavy Cream Powder - reminds me of raw grass fed cream and milk I've gotten from a co-op - has a grassy cow-y taste that I am not a fan of, even if it's actually more natural. Once mixed with powdered milk that farm taste is less pronounced and the two come together well enough to create a fair approximation of fresh full cream milk. If I hadn't tried Judee's I'd probably settle for this one, but since Judee's is much better, I dumped it. 3. WillPowder Heavy Cream Powder - my first taste hit me with a strong industrial refrigerant or walk-in freezer taste - if you've ever had desserts from a restaurant stored too long in their display case so the cream picked up that distinctive refrigerated smell that your own fridge doesn't have, or if you've ever noticed that smell in a restaurant's walk in freezer - that is what this tastes like. I thought maybe after it was mixed and settled overnight or even two days it might dissipate, but it did not. The texture is fine but the taste is not. I dumped it. 4. Hoosier Hill Farm Heavy Cream Powder - an odd unpleasant taste. Nothing like cream. Surprising, because I like other Hoosier Hill Farm products. Dumped it.

Excellent, unique product.
My wife recommended that I get off my non-dairy coffee creamer habit. She says there's a lot of bad things in that stuff and she's right. She suggested this as an alternative and it works really well in coffee. Although it's a little bit hard to dissolve. Once it does, it's fine...but it will settle back, you have to keep stirring it.
