Excellent, very practical
This is an awesome book. Good enough that I felt compelled to come here and write a review to show my appreciation to the author. I've been using Windows Server for many years as a semi-amateur, fumbling around, Googling stuff, learning lessons the hard way. I finally picked this book up when I got tired of Googling around for answers and getting conflicting advice. This book answers all of the lingering questions I had in my head, gives concrete opinions on best practices, and introduced me to new technologies I knew nothing about (e.g. Direct Access). After reading this book, I felt like I had just finished working with a highly paid IT consultant.Thank you Mr Krause, your book is greatly appreciated!

Great resource
Well done and well organized. Dry technical jargon but to the point.

Good book...covers the topic well.
Covers the topic well. Typical tech book, updated here and there from earlier Windows books.

I wish I had such a book when I started in IT...
This books is great! It summarizes many things I learned the hard way over many years in a career as systems engineer. It is not super specific to server 2019 but many things also work in older and newer versions of Windows Server. I can especially recommend the DNS chapter. It's not always DNS... but it's DNS. Many experienced administrators and engineers struggle with in depth knowledge of DNS and the book explains it really well.

Must Have For the Go To Guides
I really enjoyed that this book was very engaging and had nicely done step-by-step guides. Jordan brings life into the boring day-to-day manual and guides hat are out there. You can see his personality seep through as well as his passion and knowledge. This is a must for the go to guides on the shelf.

Modern best practices
J Krause has a knack for breaking things down in methodical manner. As a sysadmin with zero Microsoft certifications (I'm a network guy), I was able to find quickly find answers to get my Microsoft deployments operating with modern best practices.

Great book to start with
I have been working with the various Windows Server editions for a long time. Since NT 4.0 until the current Server 2019. In all these years I have amened quite a bit of knowledge, but of course not everything yet. Some parts of Windows Server I have never even touched. But with this book, familiar parts and unknown parts have even become clear to me and where necessary I have made adjustments. As a Windows Server administrator, this is the perfect book to have as a reference to get the best out of, in this case, Server 2019.Some chapters that I found very interesting are Certificates, Remote Access (AOVPN, VPN, DA), Hardening and Security, and Redundacy.I definitely recommend this book for new administrators, as well as existing administrators who are working or going to work with Server 2019.

Superb book, very well written
Very useful reference. I purchased this to learn more about Server 2019, as the last server I worked with was Server 2008.

got the informationm to explain but not do.
It's fine to have a book explain all the aspects of the OS but no to dos? Kindda pointless really. If you need an explanation fine, but, no who-tos to go with the them. If you do know how to do something then you probably know what each bit means anyway so again, the book becomes pointless.
