My mom appreciates the thickness of this wheelchair pad. I love the fact you can unzip the cover to wash it! This is our second one so that she will have a spare. This pad is way better then other ones we’ve tried.

Great cushion and not just for wheelchairs. Got one for my husband for Christmas not knowing it was a wheelchair cushion and it worked wonderful for him to have that extra cushion beneath his bottom on the couch and easier for him to get up from a seated position because that's hard for him. He loves it, so comfortable and cushy!! I borrowed it one day for my office chair because I needed the height to do a video, and what a difference!! So, I ordered one for myself as well. It is good quality, no slipping. By the way, it doesn't flatten out when you sit on it or otherwise and it is truly a gel cushion! It is well worth the price and so much more!!!

After having some rather severe muscle spasms down in the tailbone region, I decided I needed a cushion in the interim as I try to procure a better chair. I ordered this cushion because I needed it same-day and it was one of three available, and I liked the idea of the pull-out piece. After using it for a couple days I think it's helped. I still need to get up and stretch, but I can at least sit for an hour long meeting without intense pain, which is a huge improvement. Yes, there is a difference between using it with and without the tailbone cutout. I tried it as just a cushion with all components attached and it was too painful to use after about 15 minutes. The way I use it is as the donut pillow, but I stick the extra piece behind me. This is by no means a replacement for good lumbar support, but it does ensure my hind end stays in the right place, and makes a difference as to how long I can sit down. Without it behind me, I can't get that full hour, only about half an hour. Big thanks to another review that mentioned doing that! The cushion itself is on the harder side, as folks say in other reviews, but at almost 300 pounds this is welcome as opposed to a squishy cushion that would probably provide me with no support. It's more comfortable than my very worn-down office chair, at the very least, and it doesn't hurt my legs as other cushions have done in the past. I'm 5'3" so I have to carefully control my chair height - though I've found the same applies to anyone not in the magic 5'7" to 5'11" height chairs seem to be designed for. I wouldn't recommend using this on a squishy couch or anything with great padding already as it would be too uncomfortable and would move around quite a bit even with the nonslip fabric - but for people with similar issues in the tailbone region, sitting in between couch cushions (as long as you have a plush couch) would provide similar relief. I can't really speak to how it works in regard to the "donut seat" functionality, and I wish there was a second insert that filled the donut without covering the tailbone piece as a comparison, but at least I can sit down again. I also have not tried to clean it yet, but it does have a removable cover. I doubt it goes on nicely again, things like that rarely do, but it's still better than throwing the whole pillow in the wash.

I have had this pad for a while. I used it on a 2000 mile road trip. It was so comfortable. I sat higher and had to adjust my mirrors but not a problem. It feels comfortable and my butt didn't sweat. I will say that it does harden up during freezing weather so that can make you higher.

The good about this cushion is that the middle comes out, or maybe, goes in, and it does leave a lot of room for that underside part of your body to be pressure free. If you like dense memory foam, this is the one for you. A lot of cushions like these have weak memory foam with no support. This one supports very well.

The cushion is well made, comfortable and lightweight!
