Summer Drifter (Whisper Ridge, Wyoming Book 2)

Not Quite Believable But It Works
Look, I was ambiguous throughout this one even though on their own that man on the cover, cowboy trainer Levi, and rich Boston boy Quinn are absolutely fascinating characters.I just kept getting thrown by the situations they were in, how fast Levi succumbed to his sexual instincts, and most especially how they kept playing off each other in at least a dozen scenes that just never felt satisfying.Yet, I kept reading because there was a reason Quinn wound up in Wyoming and I wanted to see how one of my favorite authors managed to squeeze her readers into a denouement, climax and epilogue that worked.Well, she did it and that's all I am going to say because, as you can see, I gave it five denouement, climax and epilogue stars.

Not angsty but underlying bleakness to overcome
I enjoyed Levi and Colby's romance, which is very much a slow burn due to circumstances. While it's not angsty per se, there is an underlying bleakness as each is struggling to believe that they can have happiness so I appreciated that there is an epilogue set a bit later that shows them living their HEA.

Really good read
Loved the story line. Wish there was more books. So sad to leave this world. Hope there is more to come

truth reveals what’s obvious
We all hide from truths we believe are too good to be true. We fear what we already suspect is so. Where all this trepidation comes from is the jist of good storytelling. The inner voices and outer actions come into alignment and love flows.

Good Read!
Very enjoyable, excellent characters, good strong storyline, a fair amount of angst (too much angst makes me nervous, I know it is just a book!), and it is an easy read as it it not too long. I like books, of this genre, that last an evening or two. I hope there will be more in this series.

From disappointed reader...
This book is too wordy, heavy on introspections and long winded narratives by the MCs that made the story dragging and boring to read. I just skimmed through most parts till the end and didnt feel I missed much. There is humor and drama but they did not gel well with the totality of the story.

Good read
This was a tad annoying at times with both main characters angsting overmuch but it ended up being a good read. Recommended.

I loved this one.
This story I really loved. Talking about two opposites. Quinn and Levi were truly two opposites that I thought were not going to match up. And with the underlying story, it intrigued me to continue he to read.

A throughly good book
What a lovely story this is, you can’t help but fall in love with Quinn. There were times I didn’t think he was going to get his HEA and parts that made me sad for both him and Levi. The children Laurie and Archie offset this with their jokes and antics though. All in all a great read.

Great series
This story really gave me "the feels".Characters are flawed, but aren't we all. Despite their past issues and problems , they find a deep understanding and love for each other. Such warmth in this series. Hope Chris gets a happy ending too.

Just a brilliant series
Loved these two together. Levi was strong gruff with a huge heart, Quinn was beautiful inside and out.Their chemistry jumped from the pages. The story was interesting. The side characters are brilliant.I just need a Connor and Chris story to finish this amazing series.

Gripping story, bad editing
3.5☆ overall4.5☆ for the story itself - the unique characters, flaws and all, the intensity of the emotions, the heartbreak, and the incredible inner strength, all combine to give a gripping story that has you invested in the characters and the outcome.1☆ deducted because there were a lot of editing errors - minor typos, the wrong word, missing or extra words, an incomplete sentence, and two major inconsistencies. I expected the same level of writing in this book as I have read in many other books by this accomplished author and was quite disappointed.
