It does the job
The base arrived quickly, however the knob that secures the umbrella in the stand was too short. A trip to Lowe’s solved that problem. I filled the base with water and secured my umbrella with no problem!

Its a good base but the instructions need to be clearer
The base itself it good it hold my market umbrella really well. The instructions don't tell you but you have to push the center pole and turn it to get it to insert fully so you can bolt the metal plate on the bottom. Otherwise no complaints here

Nice and heavy once filled, but filling it was work (as to be expected)
I ordered an umbrella that was probably too big. I had purchased a different base and quickly found that a 30 pound base would not hold the large umbrella up with minor wind. I set out to find the heaviest base, and found this product that will be 74 POUNDS filled.PRO: Yes, this is heavy and a perfect anchorCON: It took me 2 or 3 hours to get this topped off with sand. Since I haven't played in a sandbox in a couple decades, it wasn't bad work. However, the hole should be on the side VS on the top. This would have made it a lot easier to top off. Once it was 2/3's full, the last 1/3 took forever and no longer felt like playing in a sand box.As a side note: we had a HUGE wind storm. The base was unmoved, but my large umbrella flew off the base and sailed off of my 2nd story patio. It must have flew far because I have no idea where it landed. Never saw the umbrella again.PROTIP: This will anchor your umbrella, just make sure you fasten the umbrella screw as hard as you can. I didn't do that and so my umbrella was still swept away while leaving the base behind. Oopsie.

Great once it's set up - filling with sand is NOT easy!
First: Great idea, looks cheap but it's on my pool deck so I don't really care. Once full it is nice and heavy. I filled it with sand as much as I could and then when I tried to use it, it was still tipping over in the wind so I filled it the rest of the way with water (it took a LOT more water so I guess I didn't have as much sand in it as I thought). After that, it shook a little with the wind but stayed put. Second: This thing was a gigantic pain to fill with sand!! That tiny hole made it an hour+ process, stuffing sand in little bits at a time.. I tried a funnel, the sand got stuck in it repeatedly and I gave up.. The sand I had was a bit damp (took it right out of the bag from the hardware store - play sand), so maybe if I had spread it out and let it dry for a while it wouldn't have been so hard but wow was this frustrating. And then I ended up adding water anyways! It's super heavy now so I guess that's good. But honestly it would benefit from a much bigger "put sand here" opening! I'd try with water first to avoid the headache and then only switch to sand if the water isn't heavy enough for your use.

Doesn't keep umbrella from rotating, hard to drain
Doesn't keep umbrella from rotating. Also hard to drain. Otherwise works well. I'd hoped it would hold the umbrella pole fast so that it wouldn't spin out of the way when tilted and the wind pushes on it. But the center piece just rotates freely, so the wind can have it's way with the umbrella. Also, when I went to drain the water for the winter, I noticed that the drain hole is set in the base so that you can't completely drain all the water out without shaking it around to try and slosh out the last bit. Using sand would eliminate the need to drain it seasonally, but then you have the weight to deal with all the time.

Easy to use
I disliked how once i recieved the item i started filling the bottoms with water and one had a hole so the water was leaking out and trying to return or exhcange the item is a hassle due to trying to drain one that had already been filled it is pretty sturdy but it is hard to move around after full
