Mission Impossible DVD Collector's Set

The Missions movies have varying degrees of quality. The first two are great spy craft, action flicks. The original has a great cast with Tom Cruise, John Voigt, Emilio Estevez, et. al. leading the way, and giving you a nostalgic trip back to the old-school tech and archaic internet. Two has just as good of a cast saving the world with a little more swagger including Cruise, Thandie Newton (looking good), Dougray Scott (getting his evil mastermind on), Ving Rhames (working for the good guys this time, but still ripped like always), and the ever-talented Brendan Gleeson (in a somewhat lesser main role). A great set of movies in a box set with plenty of extras for both. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

I was glad to receive the rest of this Mission Impossible Trilogy. I remember the older version which was aired on TV quite some years ago, and these are, by far better and more realistic. Tom Cruise does a great job acting the part. The first DVD left me wanting to see a continuation and I was not at all disappointed after I viewed MI-2 and 3. If you like adventure, action and espionage, this set is a good investment. When I watch them over again, I still get the same enjoyment as when first viewed.

I saw both of the Mission Impossible movies in the theaters and liked them both (the first much more than the second). Tom Cruise is great in both, and each movie has an awesome supporting cast. While some of the scenarios are a little far-fetched, the movies are both a lot of fun. Tom Cruise's character, Ethan Hunt, is a master of disguise - so you never quite know who you're seeing on screen at any one time. I haven't received the DVDs yet, though I have them on order. Looks like they contain a ton of special features, which I'm sure will be great! I highly recommend both movies to anyone who is an action movie buff - they definitely keep you on the edge of your seat!

MI 1 has a story line that hangs together. It is a little fantastic, but that's what Mission Impossible is, so some stretching of likelihood doesn't bother the viewer. This movie is entertainment, pure and simple. It does not pretend to be other than that.MI 2 is a different kind of movie. A bit fantastic too, but you expect a little fantasy; so it does not disturb you. The cinematography here is much better than that of its predecessor. The use of light and shaddow is quite artistic. The story is good until near the end where the production deteriorates into preposterous chase scenes that go on and on and on and on. Those are followed by an even more preposterous fight scene that never seems to end; the hero and villain never seem to tire from the exertion, and do not deteriorate from the dastardly blows they rain back and forth upon each other. A lttle fantasy is expected, but the chase scenes and the fight grow immensely tiresome and unreal and ruin the movie. The movie ends like an overdone steak.

Hey, it is Tom Cruise.... but I like the Mission Impossible theme.
