Q: Does the case allow for use of touch screen features on the device inside the case?

No, I can’t use the touch screen features on the device inside. These cases are not very waterproof, more like water resistant. They. have a very short life before the plastic fasteners break and it leaks. It’s a “one summer of use (maybe) and throw it away” type of product.

Q: Will this bag hold a 7 inch Kindle Fire HD, with or without a protective case? Thanks.

The Kindle 7 HD was a very tight fit in the 6x9 and it caused a small split in the bag after a handful of outings. So, I'm getting the 9x12 version.
