I thought there was something wrong with me and my peeling skin on my hand living in Tucson,AZ in the desert...until I went to Amsterdam where it rained almost all the time and my hands immediately stopped peeling around the cuticles. Got home and bought this incredible unit with the mits for hands and feet and plastic liner to use as well. Also bought a jar of highly recommended inVitamin pharmaceutical grade Lanolin to use on skin before the wax treatment. Yes, the wax is hot. I dip quickly, small portions of hands and feet. I have big feet and they fit in the unit one at a time. THe cover has a good fit but don't leave around kids as they are intrigued and love how the wax feels. The Lanolin is perfect between treatments. THanks to the gentleman who posted to use the Lanolin---this is an old time remedy for damaged hands---works better than the probable hundreds of dollars over the years of products that just didn't work as well as good old Lanolin and this one smells not at all!

This parafin bath unit is the same as that used in certified hand therapy clinics. Reliability and temperature constancy are highly commendable. I leave the unit "on" for weeks at at time. Temperature holds steady at 126 degrees F. That said, I still think the unit should have a clear-read thermometer and power switch on the body of the unit. I periodically use a cooking thermometer to check temp, otherwise I would give the unit a perfect 5 stars.

These are great hand mitts to use in conjunction with a paraffin wax dip. They are however very enormous. I only wish there were Velcro straps along the cuff to prevent these from sliding off. Other than that these work great.

although this is used for therapy and for pedicure/manicure professionals, it was recommended by my doctor for arthritis. My health insurance covered the cost. Maybe yours will too.

Recommended to me by my physical therapist. He leaves it on all day everyday and so now I have one and love it! I have very bad arthritis in my hands and was told it will only get worse as I get older. This is such a great relief for the pain. My new occupational therapist uses it for me also and was thrilled that I owned one.

The wax takes along time to melt. Went to go do my hands after 6 hours being plugged in and wax was not completely melted then today I plugged in and wax was melted within an hour. Besides that I am really enjoying it.

These booties are a little big, but would fit male feet up to size 14. My concern only would be nice if material would be a little thicker for this price. It little expensive for mid thick material, means they won't last too long and would start tearing a part. Not 100% satisfied with quality for such a high price.

My unit is only 8 months old and stopped working i.e. wax not melting any more. I contacted Amazon.com without any satisfaction. They close the returns after 30 days! Hardly enough time to have any significant use of any item. In Australia we would get a 5 year warranty on this item. I will not be purchasing anything from Amazon.com again.
