I have a family of 5 squirrels that live on my property. And I hated them. I know longer feel anger surfacing when i look at my feeder for now these squirrels are always on "the ground eatting seed". I've only seen one squirrel attempt to get at the feeder and he simply sled right off the dome. The baffel is large and i think that is why it works so well. And the squirrels figured that out rather quickly.The baffel is easy to install. It is easy to get to the feeder to refill. It looks nice..not obtrusive at all. I will get another one when i purchase my next feeder. I have a squirrel proof feeder that worked great, until one of my squirrels decided to chewed and pull on the spring mechanism (which is made with a thin gauge wire) which stretched it out. It still works cause there are 2 other functioning springs. But it was not gonna be functioning properly much longer with that obuse. So baffel to the rescue. They never successed at getting seed. I say this because maybe that is why they gave up so quickly. They knew jumping on it did no good and know they couldnt get to it from the top so they have given up.I have heard squirrels dont give up once they gotten seed from a feeder, so i dont know if they would try to jump on it with baffel in place. But my feeder is now 100% squirrel proof with this baffle.

Bought this to replace one I had had for years; it had come down in storm and broken. This is a great item for keeping squirrels off the feeder AND providing the little birds a nice little cozy partial shelter, especially when it rains or snows (I adjust the dome so that the feeder hanger is as high up into the dome as possible). Be aware that if you place the dome and feeder in such a way that there is a nearby adjacent branch for a squirrel to hop over from, you will be frustrated. Hang the dome and feeder so that the only way for a squirrel to approach is from above the dome! If you do this, it works GREAT!!! I should also say, if you are not familiar w/ Droll Yankees....they make well constructed, solidly put together products designed to last for years.

I love draw Yankees! The quality is excellent and the performance of the products is always great… I actually wasn’t going to send a review until I saw a photo in the review section showing the identical problem that I had! I got the baffle in December of last year, and Have only utilized the class by a few times… Mine broke also. Now, I can’t find any way to reach out to draw Yankees just to get a new clasp. I can’t find their contact information anywhere on the Internet.

This thing works! We have a bird feeder that hangs off a pole mounted to our deck. Squirrels run across the deck, climb up the pole and down the feeder. Then they shove their faces in the holes and eat for 20 minutes at a time! I had it! Enter the Droll Yankee squirrel deflecting dome. It was an amusing day watching all the squirrels take turns falling off the dome. They came back for a few days but couldn't figure out how to conquer it. Now the feeder is back to feeding the birds, not the very fat squirrels. Bonus part: no more squirrel poop on my deck. Worth every penny!

Fabulous! Squirrels cannot get to the feeder from the top down. Obviously if you have your feeder in a place where they can jump from the side- no attachment from the top will stop them. Squirrels used to tip the previous baffle to the side and crawl down to feeder. This one doesn't tip and it's too slippery to crawl down. Only problem for me is that the hook to connect it to feeder is actually a clip. So I had to put a small S hook there, so I could take feeder off and on without opening the clip. If you have hanging feeder that squirrels get to from the top down- I highly recommend!!

Works well to prevent squirrels from accessing the feeder from above but you need to get the feeder out beyond the squirrel jumping point. Keeps the seed dry during rain or snow storms.

I use this dome with a tray feeder that sits up inside the dome a bit. The squirrels cannot stretch themselves long enough to wiggle inside the dome. If I had a feeder hanging lower down from the dome my guess is it would not work, as a large squirrel can hang from the hook by one claw and stretch its body all the way to the edge. but it works great with the Kingsyard Adjustable Platform Wild Bird Feeder.

It worked! It was fun to watch the squirrels try to get to the feeder but they couldn't do it! Well worth the money. The only thing we had to do was put some lock tight on the screw that holds the feeder. One time the squirrel jumped and spun the feeder out of the baffle but we fixed that. Great materials. Sturdy clips. Would recommend

I was really happy with this product at first. It seems to do it's job against squirrels. The steel rod in the middle works great to keep the done from tilting over. BUT, three days after I installed it, I got home to find my expensive feeder on the ground, broken in pieces. Turns out the little hook on the bottom of that steel rod came unscrewed (see photo). It would have taken Drill Yankeys 5 second and 2 cents to add some loctite to this joint. Instead, I'm out fifty bucks for a new feeder. Very disappointing.
