Hugs 'n Kisses HNKHABY13 Applique Paper (20 Pack)

This product does exactly what it claims. I was able to print it with my inkjet and piecing was a pleasure because it's less stiff than paper. I also appliqued hexagon flowers beautifully. I test washed one hexagon and it seemed to become nice and soft. My only criticism is that hand quilting the hexagons was more difficult with the extra bulk. If you are a machine quilter this will not be a problem at all. I happen to be a fan of hand quilting. Using #8 pearl cotton, my stitches are larger than usual. My hands are getting stronger.

I have been using this product for a few years in my EPP. I love it. So much easier than other products. Goes through the printer with ease. Easy to iron on fabric. Once hand or machine sewn you don’t have to think about removing anything. Also no basting with thread. Edges can be turned and held with a small amount of sewer’s stick glue. So easy for me to use. Seams turn out nice and flat. Depending on the tread and type of stitch used stitches are not even visible.

This is my go to device for all my appliqué. I have used this company’s hexagons before with great success but I used to use freezer paper for needle turn appliqué. Once I switched to using these fusible sheets, I saved myself hours of prep time. I use the sheets and some fabric glue to prepare the pieces and bingo, I’m in business. No turning back.

I create custom Paper pieced designs & picking out paper is a waste of time.Pros: This product went through my printer like a dream, and the light fusible made attaching the fabrics a breeze! No glue to be used, and if I over pressed the fabric, It was easy to peel the paperback to trim the fabric. Also, the stability of the product leads to very crip points! The Paper does get softer after rinsing.Cons: I tried washing out the paper, and though it softened considerably, and I was able to scrub some of the paper away, most stayed behind. This is after rinsing for about 30 minutes. The product also leached through to the front to make it particularly linty. (Note, one the project was dry, the lint on the front was easy to remove).I might try this product again, but I foresee this product only being applicable for wall hangings and not complex quilts.
