It works for some people for acne but not for me. But alum is good for aftershave cuts and to reduce ingrown hair so go for it.

Good alternative to Aftershave
I use a safety razor and end up with skin burn and sometime some cuts. I used oldspice Aftershave but it did not go trough out the day. This on the other hand somehow works great. No irritating skin later on in the day. Advice to keep in seperate locked container as it absorbs moisture.
