Had an FX-890 and used for maybe 8 years for 3 part tractor feed checks. It eventually started to show signs of something giving up so we bought this. Initial impressions are the foot print is a little smaller, seems to be slightly faster, and the checks seem to get fed smoother. So impressions after the first couple of months of use are very good.

Great printer. Just some issues with this one that for some reason I couldn't overcome. Went into sleep mode or something after about three minutes. Started printing fast then in the middle of the same job started printing slow. We are too busy a store to deal with that unfortunately.

I received a defective printer and the only option was to return it and wait on a refund...and I had to pay 45 dollars in shipping to return a product I couldn't even use. Frustrated that I'm losing out on money because I trusted this seller and even if though they probably didn't know the item was defective there should have been a option for free return on defective items.
