Working 100% OK
I took my time installing this as i wanted to get it right first time, in total it took me 3 hours. Removing the old screen was the most difficult bit. The trick for me was to make sure I got the pry-lever underneath the sticky adhesive strip, which helps to remove a screen thats in pieces as it helps lift the glass. I used a hair dryer on its second / middle setting which was perfectly adequate. Keep applying the heat if / when it becomes hard to slide the lever along. I kept my finger on the lever to maintain a set depth but misjudged it along the ‘hinge’ side and cut through the ribbon connectors. It didn't matter though as they are attached to the broken screen anyway. The one for the home button was okay, which is handy if you need to re-use it, which I didnt. The adhesive strip on the hinge side is very thin, only 1-2mm. The adhesive around the camera and home button was also along the edge of the clear area of the screen but care is needed not to damage any components as the lever is inserted deeper to reach it. With the glass breaking off at the corners it aided what I could see. Clean the adhesive off the surface of the iPad carefully. Remove all broken bits of glass and I used Isopropyl Alcohol with cotton pads to remove the remaining adhesive. I cleaned until it was smooth and shiny. When fitting the new screen there is an adhesive strip on the back of the ribbon for the home button, remove the plastic by pulling the protruding blue tabs and stick it down to the screen, working from the home button to leave any spare at the hinge position. I gave the LCD screen a clean with lint free pads and just dry wiped it. With the screen in place I put several books on it to apply some pressure for about half an hour. It’s not glue so it doesn't need to set but I wanted to give it every chance I could, as I said I only wanted to do it once. Switched it on and all was working fine, the screen even looks brighter. Having everything already installed in the new screen was good, I would not have wanted to apply the adhesive tape myself. Very pleased with the end result, it went better than I expected and I now have a £600 iPad back in action for a cost of £20, awesome.

Save a fortune do it yourself.
I was quoted nearly two hundred pounds to replace the screen and home button. I thought what the hell im not paying that how hard could it be. I did look at the many instructional videos on line . However I needn’t of done so the instructions that came with the repair kit were simple to follow . It was a little scary opening up the I pad but it’s not something anyone should be afraid to tackle. I handed over the fiddly bits to my daughter ,but only because her eyesight is better than mine and she has smaller hands than my sausage sized fingers. The only bit where real care needs to be taken is the unplugging the very small ribbon connectors and the screws are very small. The tools that came with the kit were all we needed to do the job in hand . I am writing this review on my repaired I pad and it works perfectly. I would recommend anybody to try this as it’s not really a tough job. The only thing you need that isn’t supplied is the confidence to have a go. In future I and my daughter will be repairing any of the immediate families screens should they become damaged. There are other screens cheaper for sale but for the sake of a few pounds extra I wanted to get a good replacement. I would recommend having a go it’s a little fiddly but it’s really not difficult, made easier by very clear step by step instructions and good tools for the job.

Good, but could be better, wouldn’t buy again though.
So having been doing the odd repair to Apple products in recent months, I’ve gotten used to the ways these devices are assembled, and I decided to add this digitiser to the list of repairs I have done.So overall the digitiser is pretty reasonable in quality, the adhesive on the right hand side of the home button that a couple have mentioned is weak, but knowing how to remove and refit these screens, just like removal, heating up the adhesive on fitting and clamping the digitiser in place, and allowing it to cool worked perfectly. What I don’t like about the digitiser, is the home button. This part personally is the big letdown, the quality of this part is poor. After initial switch on, everything worked, except the home button, and no amount of pressing got it to work. I attempted to recalibrate it multiple times, and still got no joy. Eventually I had to reuse the original screen, which thankfully wasn’t broken.I will have to buy another digitiser for another iPad Air that I own in the future, and I will be looking elsewhere for one.For the price, I’d have expected better quality, this is not a £20 item, it’s more a £12 item.

Important to take your time.
I found this very easy to install but you must take your time and make sure the screws go back into the correct holes. Apple products, as you may or may not know, use an abundance or screws that are not all the same length. I would certainly recommend purchasing a magnetic mat on which to place any screws and shields that need to be removed. Another point is do make sure that you remove the battery connector during installation. The instructions are clear and concise along with diagrams. One final tip is that once the new screen is in place hold the screen to the case with cloths pegs. These are ideal for providing enough pressure to enable the glue to set. Overall this is a very good product.

Very pleased with the final result
I was anxious about changing a broken screen on my iPad but the instructions were quite clear and also watched a couple of YouTube videos. The hardest part was removing the old broken screen. It is important to keep applying heat from a hair dryer to soften the glue. Once I had removed the broken screen with the tools supplied it is important to clean away the old glue and any shards of glass. Then the reassembly is reasonably straight forward. It is important to take your time and not rush it.
