Great PWS, connects to WiFi easily IF you follow the instructions (& way better than a Tempest)
This is our 3rd Acurite over the years, 1st to hook up to WiFi & Wunderground. Trick to connect: READ the instructions, specifically, you must connect to the ACURITE NETWORK ONLY using your iphone's WiFi setting (i.e. don't connect your iphone to your normal Internet connection - Eero, etc) for installation. Yes, leave your router & Eero, etc running (don't mess with them). Amazing: with a few inputs from Wunderground (station # & key ID) + your internet password = BINGO, a network connection signal on your PWS monitor. Then you can get off the Acurite Network on your iphone, the monitor will now be linked to your house network & you're in business. PS: I'm no rocket scientist. Also, if you aren't getting a connection, simply unplug & replug in the PWS monitor & start over. This should once again show the Acurite Network as an available network at your iphone's WiFi. Until you are solely on the Acurite Network, it will not hook up to WiFi. UPDATE: ...6 mos later...still working great, unlike a Tempest I installed at the same time. Way more accurate temps, wind speeds, & rain totals...no comparison...and I paid fully for both of these. We've had a very stormy spring & 1 just this AM: Accurite shows 65 degrees, 1.37 inches of rain, 21 wind gusts; Tempest shows -38, -0-, and 6.5 (i.e. it's a joke).

Works Great, but What's Up with the Barometer Symbol?
I bought this as a gift for my husband, and he's very happy with it. He appreciated it was easy to set up, but it took the two of us a few tries to figure out how to connect it with Wunderground on the iPhone. I like it for its easy-to-read display that even on dim acts as a terrific night light. My only particular dislike is the cloud-and-lightning bolt symbol that prominently displays whenever the barometer turns toward "down". I'd rather that symbol reflect an actual prediction. We live in the central Arizona desert and "down" does not mean a thunderstorm! And... Thunderstorms here (a new phenomena with climate change) means wildfire danger from lightning, and with all the human-caused wildfires we've had lately that sparked evacuation orders for our neighbors, I'm not at ALL keen on the emotional jolt I received from that symbol. Now, after we've had the unit for a few months, I find myself ignoring that portion of the display entirely. Couldn't the designers have come up with something else? Or maybe nothing at all?

Amazing tech you can see your weather on your cell phone
This is the second Acurite 5 in 1 I’ve purchased. I had to leave my old one behind when I moved. The new one is a generation ahead in technology. You used to have to pay hundreds for connection to the internet, but now it is built in. Easy to install on top a wooden fence post using the supplied plastic mast. Easy to setup, once you understand the temporary URL concept for setup. Works great. No brainer weather station purchase.

AcuWrong temperature readings
Very inaccurate temperature reading (5 degrees higher) both indoor and outdoor compared to my old AcuRite (00829) unit and Weather Underground stations in my area. Display panel kept loosing the signal from the lightning detector, even when it was indoors and 10 ft away in the same room. I was impressed that the lightning detector picked up strikes during last nights storm, even from inside the house.

Acurite seems to have taken a step backwards
I had a previous model at our old house that we left there when we sold the house. Worked like a champ for years, updated Wunderground every minute or so. Saw this on Prime Day and jumped on it since it was an upgrade over our old one as this also had a lightning detector included. Installed everything outside, setup was just like our previous model. Went to connect the display to our Wi-Fi, and it would not stay connected. I do network security for a living, have a whole home mesh setup, but regardless if I had it connected to the mesh APs, a single AP, even at one point just three feet away, it was only online maybe less than 10% of the time. This was all on a network segment with no filtering going on, just an isolated wireless network for IoT devices. I reached out to Acurite to see what they could do. At first they were pretty responsive as they went through their troubleshooting script, responding to emails within 10 minutes. Now here's the kicker, their "summer hours" for customer support is Monday-Thursday 7:00 am to 4:30 pm CDT and Friday 8:00 am to 12:00 pm CDT. When I asked them shortly after 11 CDT on Friday if they could send me a new display, I didn't hear back until after 10 AM on Monday (I guess they started their long weekend early) authorizing a replacement display under warranty. In that time, I was able to order a comparable product from a competitor, install it, and have it work perfectly on my network. I just returned this product to Amazon. AcuRite used to make a great product, but they seem to have cheapened out on their newer models and cut back on Customer Support.

App only shows outside weather info
I was able to connect to WiFi but the My Acurite App would only show the outside weather info. I also wanted the indoor and extra sensor to show via App so I can monitor all temps from a different state. Not sure there is a weather station made that the App shows the same info as the display? For now I’ll keep an indoor camera on my older Acurite display and monitor via camera.

So much better than prior model!
While the installation is a bit involved getting connected with WiFi and the cloud app, this product is far better in every way than the prior AcuRite model that I'm replacing.
