Write Dudes USA Gold Premium Cedar No. 2 Pre-Sharpened Pencils 12-Count (DDR56)

I love USA Gold pencils, and the smooth, dark writing from these pencils did not disappoint. What did disappoint was that despite the "Premium Cedar" claim, these are not cedar, and are some light-colored softwood, perhaps fir. They sharpen great, feel good in my hand, and erase reasonably well, so if you don't care about the lack of cedar smell, then there are great! Heck, get the black and natural ones as well!

I didn't open them yet, they're for my kiddo for Christmas. I can tell they're just like the pencils you would get in school or for school. They're not some specific, high quality pencil, but they will be perfect for what she's using them for, drawing. They come already sharpened, which is nice. 12 come in a pack, so I bought her a little bag for them. All seems to be good so far and I'm sure they will do what I got them for.

So my son is doing his homework and about every two minutes he stops to sharpen his pencil. . . I'm thinking he is just procrastinating and losing focus so I get on him about it and he shows me that his pencil keeps breaking and the lead just falls out. I tell my wife we need to purchase Dixon pencils because those are the best . . . surprise, surprise all his crappy pencils are Dixons. They just don't make them the same anymore. So I do a little research on what the best pencils are and not to my surprise I find a bunch of posts by school teachers saying they lose so much time because Dixon pencils along with so many other poorly made pencils force the kids to keep sharpening their pencils when the lead falls out frequently. Most of them had similar recommendations so I decided to purchase a few different brands to see which ones worked best for us. And so far we have been really happy with the quality of each of the following types that we tried. -Write Dudes USA Gold Premium Cedar No. 2. (Great all around pencil) -Write Dudes USA SIlver Wooden #2 (Great all around pencil) -Staedtler Rally Graphite #2 (Top notch) -General Pencil Company Cedar Pointe No. 2 Pencil (Very well priced and still great quality) -Paper Mate 12 Count #2 Mirado Black Warrior Lead Pencils, Medium Soft (Great pencils, nice darker color) I'd purchase any of the above again as long as they continue to make them the same way. I found a few other reviews by teachers who recommended others, but those few were in a much higher price range. Keeping it in a realistic price range the above 5 pencils are awesome. They write well and the lead does not break every two minutes. Perfect for keeping kids focused while doing their school work.

These bring back memories! They are firm, the quality of the eraser and their color reminds me of the old school pencils from back in the days. They don’t smear when you wipe either. All in all, these make handwriting a breeze!

Smooth Writing and Great Quality These pencils write really smoothly and don’t break easily, even with regular use. The graphite is just the right darkness, and they sharpen well without crumbling. Great for school, office work, or everyday use. I also like that the erasers actually work and don’t smudge the paper. Overall, great value for the price!

These are the best pencils you can buy. Bar none. Nothing else brings back those old memories from the 3rd grade whilst sharpening those pencils and smelling that Cedar. This is a true #2 pencil and the best part is. It's Made In The USA !! Thank you.

These are real wooden pencils not those cheap composite wood dust pencils. They are great!!!

Hello....i just got my much awaiting product that is usa gold pencils...wow..super quality and good looking too..pretty dark and smooth writing but a little itchy...light in weight also..totally it reaches my expectations...i m happy with this...
