Dark Trojan: An Adam Drake novel (The Adam Drake Series Book 3)

Adam Drake is becoming a favourite. Long may the series continue!
I am really enjoying the Adam Drake series. I like having a group of characters which run through the stories. The books are fiction but really very believable as they are based on real concerns and strategic responses to dangers posed by terrorist threats. Each book would stand alone but reading them in sequence, I think, is better. The books are pacey and make you want to read the next development and reach the resolution.

not bad
My description of the series remains the same. Fast food.. but good fast food. I might be alone in this, but I confess I do get a bit tired of the endless summary descriptions of characters from earlier books in the series. Obviously put in to aid a first time reader of the series, but I skipped some paragraphs to avoid this. Still it was a good read even if the villains seem to be getting a bit cliched. It would be nice to have a villian in the next book who isn't anti-semitic. Stretch yourself Scott!

Very real possibility
It shows what can be done if the right people are corrupted, and what is needed to fight this threat

Excellent read
This is the third in the series and is well written, fast paced and an excellent read. Realistic but not excessively violent it's well worth reading.

Let’s call this a highly relevant and timely thriller.
Scott Matthews writing style is tight, highly accurate, and descriptive. He is obviously intimately familiar with his venues right down to the weather and geographical details. It’s yet another reason I have grown to appreciate the quality and depth of his writing. This third book continues after the close of book 2, so some of the villains overlap. The overarching point is we have a shadowy South American organization of new-nazis using an alliance with the Mexican drug cartels and Iran backed Hezbollah to carry out attacks in the USA. Adam Drake is asked by his father-in-law to look into a series of cyber attacks on a cyber security company in San Francisco that is developing software to protect our energy grid. What follows is a complicated plot is revealed that could cause much of the power grid in the USA to crash for months. And in the midst of all of it is the budding attraction between Adam Drake and Liz Strobel of DHS, and it is deftly woven through the story. This is an immensely enjoyable series, and not given to political correctness, which is refreshing. There are interesting characters, evil villains, and great friendships throughout. If you are a fan of Ben Coes, Vince Flynn, David Baldacci, and the like, you will enjoy this series.

Dark Trojan
I'm enjoying this series. It's kind of an interesting insight into the minds of both the "good" and "bad" guys. Fairly believable situations. Easy to read, although a little wordy in places. Good suspense (even if the outcome is predictable). I like it!

Great Novel!
This week I have read the first three installments of the terrific series featuring Adam Drake. All have been fiercely entertaining and hard to put down.I especially applaud the author for his choice of topics. We have , of books that can provide entertainment, but these contain reality checks. The situations in these books could happen. Some maybe have happened. As comfortable Americans, it is easy for us to live in a narrow valley, without thinking about the potential evil that surrounds us.Every day, people work to keep us safe, while others work to profit illegally and scam our country. These books are a great reminder that we shouldn't bury our heads in the sand.Thank you, Scott Matthews!

an electrifying conspiracy
Adam Drake is again involved in a conspiracy from overseas. Adam is a very exciting character who gets involved in all sorts of things. This time he is involved in a conspiracy to bring down the electric grill in America. I found the plot to be exciting and good and easy to read. And I enjoy the series and the characters involved in it. The piece of the book is very good and I recommend it to all who like to read thrillers.
