Comfy, cushy, and perfect for new riders
Obsessed. I just started mountain biking and wanted something comfortable without dropping $$ on a big-name brand right away—these delivered. The padding is super cushioned without feeling bulky, and the fit is surprisingly flattering for bike shorts. They stay in place during long rides and don’t ride up or bunch. The material is breathable and dries quickly (key when you’re sweating on the trail). I’ve worn them on a few rocky routes and my tailbone thanked me. If you’re new to cycling or just want a great value pair, these totally hold their own. Will definitely be grabbing a second pair.

Great cycling shorts
This is my second Baleaf cycling shorts purchase. This particular pair seemed to be advertised as a slightly upgraded variation (with a thicker chamois & side pockets) versus the Baleaf pair I already own. I immediately used the new shorts for a 45-mile ride on a very hot/humid day, and found them to be very comparable to my high-end name-brand shorts that are similar, without the higher price tag. The material on the Baleaf shorts is slightly thinner and maybe just a bit less compressive than my name-brand shorts, but I have not found that to be an issue. The waistband is comfortable and does not sag, and the chamois feels a little more comfortable for longer distances than the chamois on my name-brand shorts. I'm not sure if that's due to the contouring or the nature of the padding itself. I often find myself using Baleaf shorts for my longer rides due to the comfort of the chamois. And the legs on these shorts do not ride up. While my name-brand shorts also have leg grips, I still have to do a leg adjustment at least once or twice during particularly hot/sweaty rides. So far, I haven't had to fiddle with these at all. They stay put during the entire ride. I also love the pockets on the side for extra storage, and they'll easily hold some additional nutrition or other essentials. I needed an extra pair of shorts in my rotation since I usually ride 4 times per week and I'm very happy I decided to purchase this new pair from Baleaf. I'm 5'1" tall, weigh around 90 pounds, and have a 27" waist and a 32" hip. The XS is a good fit for me. I wash all of my workout clothing with a detergent specifically formulated for exercise gear and I hang my cycling shorts/jerseys to dry. I have found my other Baleaf gear to be durable if cared for properly.

Simple Cycling Shorts
This is an honest review of the Baleaf padded bike shorts for women. Pros: Shorts are comfortable and padding works as described. Basic black also goes well with most cycling jerseys. Opportunities: These shorts had some loose threads that we had to trim up so seem quality could possibly be improved. Sizing appears a little larger than other women’s cycling shorts which typically run smaller. Overall: We would still recommend trying these shorts as comfort and function works well. Just know they may run a little big and their could be a few loose threads.

Good cycling shorts
I really like Baleaf chamois, it works well for me, and this pair of shorts is no different. It's comfortable and gives me confidence I can be suitably protected for 40 mile rides! The styling is good and having good-size pockets is a huge plus. I bought 2 pairs of these; and love the longer ones; they are super comfortable and the length is great. Not super long but they made my legs look good. The thigh grippers worked well and there was no slippage. I highly recommend the longer length. I also purchased the shorter length to see about changing where my tan line is. They'd be great for that. The issue I have, though, is that I have fat thighs, the short inseam with the leg grips makes me bulge in a way that's not flattering! Sure, it's me and I'll get over the bulgy appearance. I'll definitely wear them, but they're not my favorites. Update: I also purchased the "Lycra 5-inch" (the ones with the flashes of color from the hip to the front). These are likely to be my favorite summer shorts; they're cut a little differently than the other 5-inch shorts and I don't feel like I have the "sausage effect" going on. The chamois is a little different than the others but still comfortable for short (up to an hour) rides. I haven't ridden longer than that yet, so can't comment how comfy they are for longer rides. These shorts have a cute look and are highly recommended by me!

Good for biking, helps prevent perineum soreness
These are pretty nice for the price. I bought these to use for my stationary bike that already has a padded seat that was not helping. These shorts made my butt and perineum area feel a lot less painful after finishing a 7+ mile bike ride. These shorts did not ride up on the thighs while riding and did not fall at the waist. I got a size medium and I am 5’8” about 160# which I felt was a very good fit. I would not recommend these to walk around in for a long period of time as it felt somewhat like you were wearing a diaper. They were breathable and nice quality with pockets. Recommend for stationary bike rides at home.

Great shorts!
I bought these because I just got a peloton bike. They are wonderful. They fit exactly as they should, they’re very comfortable, and they make my 45 minute rides much more comfortable. I tried riding my bike without padded shorts and that was not a good time. The size guide is true. I highly recommend.

prob wouldn’t buy again
shorter than i’d like for long distance biking. also the seams are pilling and the grip doesn’t do much to prevent from riding up on the thighs. the padding is at least good and comfortable for 20+ mile rides.

Excellent fit and padding, deep side pockets
In regular shorts I’m between a L and XL depending on the style. I sized up to an XL on these figuring they’d run a little tighter than regular shorts. These fit me perfectly - not too big or too small. I’m 5’5” and 185 for reference. I love the length on these - they are long enough to not ride up but short enough to let my legs breathe during a ride. They are also short enough that I can throw on a wrap skirt over them if we are stopping somewhere mid-ride where I’d rather not have my shorts exposed. The pockets on the side are nice and deep as well as stretchy. They easily store my phone, a towel, and anything else I need to put there. The silicone on the leg bands keep the legs from rolling up. The waist is a little lower than what I’m used to in a bike short (even other Baleaf bike shorts), but it hasn’t rolled down on me. The padding is very nice and although I’ve not washed this pair repeatedly, I’ve had luck with my other Baleaf bike shorts not decompressing after many uses. The way the padding sits in the front does give a “camel toe” look, so if you’re concerned about this you can easily throw a different pair of light shorts over these or wear a wrap skirt as I mentioned above.
