LFM: Linux Field Manual

Keep it in my backpack all the time, excellent reference to grab during troubleshooting

This reference book has been a lifesaver, I don’t always have access to online resources and this little book gives me quick access to commands. I also like how it explains some of Linux foundation concepts. Don’t expect to learn about all the inner workings of Linux, it is nice for what it is a reference manual

Worth the buy.

I don't know if its the same company but this book doesnt compare to original RTFM booklet. It looks like LFM is trying to imitate another publisher.Quality of the book is not like RTFM, it's a print on demand with low res images. Not as organized. It looks like a random brain dump rather than a handy book for tips and tricks.Linux pocketbook is a better buy.

A great guide that has descriptions about basic Linux processes and has a pretty good command reference table. Just as described, it’s a reference book.

I'm not sure I understand all the 5 star reviews here. This book is a cheaply reproduced collection of information that is mostly available in man pages or varies on version or implementation. It also trips one of my pet peeves, using ifconfig instead of ip and even that isn't well covered.I suppose if you had no access to the internet or man pages this might be useful but when sites like linux.die.net, man7.org, and nixcraft exist, this is simply not enough to justify paying for.

It doesn't have a lot of the material I had expected.But it has blank pages to use for notes.

Eu arrisquei comprar este field manual sem conhecimento da sua qualidade e quem espera aprender mais sobre linux vai desiludir-se aqui. Isto não passa de um pequeno manual de consulta de shell rápido, e para quem gosta de livros técnicos com muitas paginas como eu, este livro marcou pela negativa pois é pequeno e incompleto. Mas o que me impressionou mais foi a falta de conteúdo de qualidade instrutivo. Mesmo assim vou encomendar os outros field manual pois ouvi falar bem deles. Só espero serem muito melhores que este
