The fob for my 2018 F150 fell on concrete and the case broke. I purchased this hoping that the internals were exactly the same as the factory fob and I could swap in both the circuit board and key. It was an exact match and I now have a working fob/key. Hope this helps someone else who is thinking of doing the same thing.

What could be more important than it works. Now, for some details. Dealers wanted a fortune to cut this key. A locksmith wanted $200, kept calling it a Chinese knock-off, and kept repeating that he would guarantee nothing. I found a locksmith 80 miles away that cut the key for $55. Part of the reason for the expense in cutting is that copies are not made. Your key is read by the machine, data is sent to Ford, instructions for cutting are downloaded to the machine, and it is cut hands-off. Programming takes 1 minute. On the 2019 F-150, insert 1 original key and turn on, not start, just on, for 3-4 seconds. Remove key. Repeat with the second Ford provided key. Now, do the same with the unprogrammed but cut key. Done. Just a little more info. There are three keys. The two you get with the truck has a mechanical key, a chip that allows starting the engine, and a remote. The next lower functionality key has a mechanical key and a chip. You can open the door without alarms and start the engine. The lowest functionality key has a mechanical key only. It only opens the driver door. The key in this review is the fully functional key with mechanical key, chip for starting the engine after it is programmed, and remote control which will work on your vehicle after you program the key. It is identical in form factor to the Ford keys except that it does not have a Ford logo. I think the electronics are the same.

Need an extra 2016 Ford F-150 key fob? Process is painless if you have two good fobs already. This one is now my primary, and other two are with my wife or as a back up in a safe place. Get a local locksmith to laser cut your key. Mine cost $35. They can use your business. Bring your specialty keys- the ones you can never find a place that has them, to cut a spare while at the locksmith. Then open your manual to the key programming page. In a nut shell, you put the first programmed key in, turn to on (not start), count to three, then take it out. Put the second programmed key in, turn to on, count to three, take it out. Put the unprogrammed, newly cut key in, turn to on. You know you are good when the four way flashers blink twice. Turn it off. Now you have a third key! Start the truck just to see, and try the locks. This key fob is heavy, unlike some of the other after market fob makers.

Worked great to begin with, failed 7 months later. Contacted support, exchanged text's till I let them know it could not be reprogramed. Then ghosted.
