This is a great book shelf. It looks nice, holds a ton of weight, and was easy to put together. I had stacks of magazines, journals, and books beside my bed. We have an incredibly heavy platform bed, so anything I put along the wall had to fit and allow room for me to walk by without moving the bed. After cleaning out the older periodicals, I was able to put everything beside my bed plus lots of books being kept in boxes. My room looks so much neater. My only “complaint” was that the magazines did not stay upright easily because there are no solid sides on these shelves. We were able to solve this problem by using boxes that paper reams come in to hold the magazines. (I get them at work). As they disappear, I can add books with bookends. I would definitely buy these shelves again. Just be aware the sides are open and measure your space.

This bookshelf is exactly as pictured. It is very sturdy and easy to put together. It is a great value and looks nice in my house!

I have bought several of these book shelve units in different sizes and they are perfect for my home office. Although they are not real wood, they look really nice and are very sturdy. The only issue I have had with each one when assembling is the brackets on the back that criss-cross do not line up with the already drilled holes and you really have to work at getting this part assembled. It took me as long to get the criss-cross bars in place and secured as it did assembling the entire unit, assembling the unit was easy. Besides that, this is a perfect addition to any room in your home. And they come in different sizes. I would definitely buy again. Very happy with the product.

The measurements advertised are accurate. The quality of the build is excellent. The ease of assembly, well... I am disabled and was very able to put it together with one hand. I think it looks great! The alignment of everything is perfect as long as you pay attention to lining the holes up accurately. The weight is only 40 pounds, and it is east to move. I am using it for my Bible's and studies. I have about 20 pounds on it in the picture and once I get a set of bookends, I can add the rest of my books. It really is a great 55" bookcase.

This shelf was easy to assemble; is aesthetically pleasing to look at; and holds an ample amount of weight. I am happy.

Bought this to hold my art supplies, miscellaneous office supplies, and my sewing machine. This definitely gets the job done! My sewing machine is one of those old 80's metal behemoths. Lesser shelves have bowed beneath its mighty weight, but not this one. This bookcase doesn't shake, has thick shelving slats that down bend under pressure, and it has a nice aesthetic. Assembly was fairly easy if you've ever put furniture together. One word of caution, make sure the holes on the vertical supports are on the same side when building the case. Only one side of each support has these holes, but the directions doesn't draw attention to that fact until a couple of steps AFTER you've installed them. The holes are for the cross beams along the back of the case. If you don't put them all facing the same way, you will have to go back and correct it. Though the shelf is sturdy enough without the crossbeams, the extra structure is great if you plan on loading this shelf down.

I was really impressed by this double wide bookcase. It's so impressively sturdy and just looks like a really quality piece even though I know there is veneer and MDF involved. It sits adjactent to my entryway, and features some of my most beloved cookbooks. I only wish they made a half-width matching tall 6-tier one that can actually hold books as opposed to just display shelves.
