It's a bit like tent poles. Pull it apart and it folds like one big tent pole. We have motorbikes and have to put it away at the end of the trip and it's small enough to fit on the back of the bike. That's kinda the ide6

Q: Does this have good lumbar back support?

Not really no. It’s not got any lumbar support built in. The chair will conform to your shape mostly though. I have a bad back and I find it perfectly ok to sit In for a couple of hours at a time. It’s not one you can lay back in as the back of the chair isn’t high enough to support your head as such bit perfectly usable for hours at a time

Q: do the feet sink into grass easily?

I have several of these type of chairs of different brands and find this one exceptionally good on soft surfaces I have not had this chair sink into the ground on grass and have even used it on the beach with minimal sinking on moist sand I am 100 kg and have had no issue with this particular chair as the rubber ferrules on bottom of legs tend to spread the load, hope this helps.
