Reign of Dragons: Dragon Dojo Brotherhood, Book 1

Rushed!
OK, so I may be a little picky, but this storyline started out really well in the first couple of chapters and then just went downhill. Instead of taking the time to flesh out the plot, create believable relationship building scenarios ie real trust building between the protagonists, we have a helter skelter blitzkrieg race to a sort of interim finish line. A few (say 10) extra chapters would have been great...with a bit more fleshed out scenarios to create real character development. I was put off by the heroine's incredibly arrogant belief in her own powers and her apparently unrivaled expertise in 'everything'! She was more powerful than, stronger than, just way better than huge dragons even. For real! Just too much of muchness to this chick who everybody adores and drools over immediately! And she's immediately in love with her love interests...like immediately! 10 more development chapters...would have been better...enough said!

Loved it! My favorite book by this author!
This is by far my favorite book by this author! I loved the characters and storyline and it was just about perfect, and the only thing that kept it from being in my opinion was a small thing that happened twice. Our h is unbelievably strong and strong willed and of course when that happens you are bound to have moments where it is my way or the highway and being overly stubborn. Yet that only happened twice I thought that bothered me a little and was quickly over.It was such a joy watching her grow and learn to open up and to trust. I'm so glad I found this book and preordered it, because if I had borrowed it on KU I would have turned around and purchased it after. It was that good. It deserves to be in the library and I definitely see myself rereading it when the second book comes out.Another thing that I appreciated about this book was the slower pace on the romance front where you get to know them and care about them before jumping into the next step, but don't worry there are some adult scenes to enjoy.I can't wait for book two! More secrets and identities to uncover and relationship to progress. Can't wait!

Read books 1-3
All in all, this series a good read. I don't love it, I like it. Interesting settings and some characters are also interesting. Tucker is my favorite, he's hilarious. He stands out over the other men. Jace really deserves more page time all around. Instead he's kind of treated like an annoyance, in spite of all the rules he's broken and sacrifices he's made for the MC. The villains are a bit run of the mill and the story starts to feel repetitive at times. Rory isn't an MC that'll go down as one of my favorites. She has the "no man can control me" thing going on to extreme, repetitive lengths. No one is trying to control her. They'd like to prevent her from sneaking off on rogue missions and getting herself captured and nearly killed. Three books in and she's still going on about not being controlled, while she's needed to be rescued multiple times. She's also very repetitive in mentioning her training. Out loud and in her head, it's constant. Girl, we get it. You're a bad ass who won't be controlled. Moving on! I got so tired of it in the first book, I almost gave up the series. I will say though, the series got better as it went. Rory still isn't my favorite and I feel like she's resisting Jace just to add drama to the story. She had no qualms giving it up to the other guys. I wish for Jace's sake he could be with someone else. I'll see the series through. There's enough humor to keep me invested.

WOW! Action packed feels!
OMG!! This action packed, feels filled, fantasy is... Wow! Rory was raised to be a top notched dragon assassin. She lived by rules and saw no need for dragons in a dragon run world until, she was betrayed by one of her own and thrown into a pit to die. But she didn't die, she rose from the pit filled with an ancient dragon magic.Rory needs to save her sister, mentor and herself.Where can Rory run? Hmm... Read and find out.

Yes Please
I’ve been needing some more strong women in my books and Rory delivers. Plus dragons!!!Rory is trained to be a dragon assassin and belongs to a feared/hated dragon assassin group where she was trained to be a lethal weapon. Everything changes when a mission goes wrong and her sister and mentor are taken while she is left for dead. She survives and vowels to revenge the man that caused all of this. During her journeys she discovers that not all dragons are bad and given a choice - she’d rather not harm them. She begins to question everything but being loyal, she still wants to rescue the woman that raised her even though it could now mean the end of her.Action, romance, strong MC, twists, and turns. This book is a hard one to put down and I can’t wait to continue this series.

Amazing World Building
Ash truly has an interesting imagination that translates quite well in this book. We meet Rory the woman that can really save herself as she ends up in some extreme circumstances that will change her life forever. She has to question everything she has ever known as she tries to save her mentor, sister, and herself. The addition of the men both human and Dragon was great as each has a distinct personality that really draws you in. Full of wonderful surprises, intrigue, and danger. Great for fans of RH with dragons. I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.

Interestingly done
I received an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.I've read quite a few of this style of book and this was written in a way that I didn't feel as it was just a rehash of old ideas.I liked how the angst between characters was portrayed and how it changed.I look forward to the next book.
