CeraMetix 5" Filter Replacement Filter

Exceptionally pleased with this AquaCera CeraMetix filter! Buying a gravity water filtering system for my home and for travel has been on my mind for years. It's been easy enough to forget, I simply would refill my jugs when I went grocery shopping, simple and inexpensive. Last summer, I drove across the country, in retrospect, I see how having this filter would have come in handy! One thing in particular I wanted, was fluoride removal and I still don't know if that was the case with what I was getting from the store. When our local stores became overwhelmed with shoppers in a panic, what had been collecting dust on my things to buy list became a top priority.With other options still available for water I knew it was time for following through with this. I purchased a (travel size) gravity filter system with filters that were received in a timely fashion, only to discover I had failed to pay closer attention to the types of filters I ordered! By then, these AquaCera CeraMetix filters were nearly impossible to find. I ordered more from the company I originally purchased from, only to learn that they were going to be delayed in shipping. Perfectly understandable, with what is currently happening within the U.S. The filters I had were good enough for the time being, significantly reducing/removing the heavy chlorine smell and taste from our tap water. Still important to me to get the right filter for our needs, I decided to look on Amazon, and found one here! It has been a couple of weeks now and I can easily say that the water tastes better than the water I was getting from the store. Because of my failure to pay attention at first, I can even compare it to another filter (an AquaCera CeraPlus 7") and one thing I think would be helpful for you to know, is this heavy-duty filter does take a little longer to work, but of course, it is worth it! I also think that the size might have something to do with it, as well. While I haven't lab tested the filtered water, I can say this - drinking our tap water will literally give me an immediate upset stomach. Drinking the tap water after being filtered from this AquaCera CeraMetix filter leaves me feeling perfectly refreshed and wanting more! Highly recommended!

I thought the other reviewers were shipped the wrong product by mistake but this seems intentional. If you go to the Aquacera website you can see the difference in the two products. I bought these replacement filters. They look just like the ones that came out of my gravity water Dispenser. Although the pictured filters have the same blue color base as the originals, the ones I received had black bases and nuts. Even though my original filters they look just like in the picture rhese bla k ones are half the size, At an inch and a half are crossed and not 3 inches like the ones with the blue base they will only last half as ling. Not happy with a bait and switch. Please be careful! Juat watch your order from these folks online here. They Tell you how tall the filter is but not how wide it is in the pictures are nothing compared to what they ship you.

Filtration was slow for me first, but improved after "breaking in" the filter. Make sure you read the instructions. It also improved overtime with regular use for drinking and cooking. Note that multiple people are using the filtered water. It will be slower for single person use. I've stopped buying plastic water bottles and after looking at multiple brand of filters I chose this one. The filter water quality is great. Review their data sheets if you'd like. The water has barely any taste and believe me, my town has hard water. This is an excellent filter at a reasonable price.

There's marginal improvement, but my water still tastes tappy. I let the water filter into 2 mason jars to check the wingnuts for leaks and everything is solid. No drips from the threading. Last time I ordered these filters, I was honestly impressed. I accidentally ordered the 9", and they stuck out the top, and this time I decided to downsize but may have gone too small. Still, size shouldn't really matter much - my water shouldn't taste this tappy and unpalatable.

We've been using one of these filters for over a year in our counter-top water filtering unit. This is definitely better than the previous water purification methods we've used (counter-top distiller and reverse osmosis). There was a difference in this replacement filter compared to the original one we purchased - the new one was slower. We received some great info by contacting the manufacturer, and he helped us a lot! We highly recommend this filter.

I like that this filter removes fluoride, as well as many other common contaminants in most tap water. Amazon had the best price, and this size was just right for my DIY personal-size water filter system.
