Almost all germinate after 4 days
This was my 1st attempt with canna lilly seeds. I did some research. I used a chainsaw file and needle nose pliers until I saw white. Took some time, but worth it I think. I put them in warm/hot water and let them sit for 48 hours and moved them to a wet paper towel in a zip lock on top of my fridge. Was pleasantly surprised this morning!

Great results!
So far, so GREAT! First off, I was sent 34 seeds in my 20 pack. A variety of sizes, so I am hopeful that means a variety of heights and blooms in the mature plants. I refrigerated my new seeds for 9 days to start my germination process.I had 26 of my seeds germinate so far. After refrigeration, I took a file to each seed and filed off a spot on the outer hull making a white spot for water to penetrate. I then soaked the seeds in a coffee mug for about 2 weeks. I occasionally changed out the water with fresh, hot water until I saw roots forming. Once I saw roots, I would change out the water with warm water.Today, about 3 and a half weeks after starting this, I potted the 26 seeds that germinated and left the remaining 8 in the coffee mug to soak. Just in case.Excited to see what types of canvas grow from this mystery pack!

Very fresh and high quality seed
I like the idea of a good mix of colors and so hope that I get that. The seed were shipped quickly and well packaged. After treating the seed by scarification and a very hot water soak I put the seed to germinating. Within 6 days I got a very good and surprisingly high germination percentage. I am curious if the quality of colors in the mix will be good.Perfect thus far.Thank You!

Have to scarify and soak in warm water
I bought this and another pack of Canna seeds. This pack had small seeds. In the first sowing I soaked the seeds in warm water over night and the germination rate was poor. I took out the seeds from the tray, sanded them on coarse sand paper (very hard to do because seeds are small) until I saw white then soaked again in warm water over night and germination was a lot better.I had the seedling tray labelled for the first sowing but once I potted them out I no longer know which set is different from the other pack. However, I am assuming that this pack will grow smaller plants because the seeds were so small. I sowed the rest of this pack and so far all the cannas have very narrow (linear) leaves and the plants look like corn plants. Eagerly awaiting blooms and will update. One of the first set, not sure which pack it came from though is small and blooming and is a pale yellow with orange spots - looks almost like Canna Freya.

Lily seats
Lilly seeds are not that easy to sprout. I’d rather buy a plant than a seed. They have a hard outer shell and when they do sprout, it takes them a while and it’s hard to keep them alive.
