just what I needed
trying to clear a box in the garage, 28 lbs of paraffin, given by friends who received that "dip you hands in paraffin" craze gift YEARS ago. Weeks of experimenting with wicks, the right balance of stearic acid and bees wax rations, colorants, couldn't find my old "candle making pot" then read about the flammability of wax heated stove top, the way we did in the 60's, a senior now, I've been know to walk away from the stove and forget the chicken braising ("hmmm.. something smells good... OMG the chicken!" I read reviews of $$ candle melting pots, not great reviews solution, using an old aluminum spaghetti pot (basket in a large pot), shaped a 16g wire across the top of the pot to keep this pot submerged as the wax melts, look up your temps to be safe Works PERFECTLY! yes, a little dark alum comes off on a paper towel that might color light wax if you are scraping the pot with a spatula, not a problem with the candles I made in my make-shift double boiler the handle and even the top of this pot was not too hot to touch making it easier to maneuver to pour 1.5" TP mold pillars and fill the wells it is wide enough to easily wipe out the debris left by reusing old candles perfect! and, at such a GOOD price, as my Brooklyn Grandma would say highly recommended and, using it this way probably avoids complaints about having the handle over the heat... find a big old spaghetti pot in a thrift store and, don't listen to the idiots who tell you to throw things out if you haven't used them in 40 years, listen to the old hippie...

Holds plenty of wax, heats up quick, pours well
First-time candle, wax incense maker here. So, for this rookie, it was a dream. The handle is offset nicely to keep it cool, the lip (spout) end is well formed and I had no "under run" (errant drips) when pouring. After my first couple of pours, I was able to relax a good bit knowing that it was performing better than I hoped.

Small but efficient
Perfect for small batches of candle making, but if your making big batches you will need a bigger one.

Nice Aluminum Pitcher 👍
Nice aluminum pitcher. I will use it for pouring wax. I will not be using it on a stovetop wax melting double boiler. I washed it with Dawn soap and got all the metal tarnish off from manufacturing. It washed well. The handle is plastic with a screw you can tighten if needed. My husband tighten mine and it's all good.
