American Best Food Candied Orange Peel Slices, Delicious Candied Orange Slices 1 Lb

Very fresh tasting orange peel. It is a lot. I’m, obviously, not in touch with measurements. This bag will last us a long time. I’m refrigerating it knowing that we won’t be able to use is as fast as we will need to. I made a special dish that called for it. It really is lovely.

Wet rather than dry orange peel

I am not a picky person, and normally I wouldn't bother writing a review, but I was extremely disappointed with these peels. I bought this and the orange peel pieces from the same company, and I am equally disappointed with both of them, and they suffer from the same issues. First, they arrive wet and gummy, lacking anything close to that crystallized, dry finish that it claims it has that candied fruit should. The texture is objectionable, with each piece being closer to some sort of gummy with a firm bite than anything that could ever come from a lemon. Second, it lacks almost any noticeable orange flavor or scent. If I were given a piece blindfolded, I doubt I'd guess orange flavor, much less candied orange rind.. It has the faintest menthol aftertaste that cues it into being citrus peel, but orange flavor? Hardly. Candied peels are often used in cakes and such to flavor them, but this doesn't have enough flavor by itself. It also has this very odd chemical-tasting flavor, odor and aftertaste, and it's not a good one. Overall, just do not buy this. It is a sad mockery of what candied citrus should be, and is useless for most any application you might expect it to serve in.

I just came back from Croatia and Slovenia where this is a very very popular product. I was hoping to get the same, but this one is different. For my purposes, it wasn’t what I wanted. The ones in Europe had more sugar crystals on it. This is Much less sweet that way, but it is intrinsically sweet. This makes it a better gift for people that are looking for that. It wasn’t my taste, but the good news is that when you have a few of these pieces, it just immediately hits your sugar needs and I don’t feel the need to keep eating. If it had been the way it was from Europe. I would’ve continued and probably gotten myself sick lol eating it

Tasty for people who like oranges. I put a couple of pieces in my tea and in my coffee. It makes my hot drink taste distinctive, and the heat from the beverage softens the candied slices more. Delicious!

My bestie loves chocolate covered orange peels but they are are pricey for the better ones so I did this and we covered them our selves they are so goood with the chocolate an without

A little weird taste. I am not crazy about it.
