Gaiam Solstice Mesh Hat, Black

Love the hat. Don’t know if it will last long, but for now it is working for me. Light weight and airy

This hat is lightweight as advertised, with a mesh back and plastic snap back. It has an odd shape, somewhere between a trucker style hat and a baseball cap. I attached pics comparing it with my favorite baseball cap (sorry, didn't have a trucker hat for comparison), which show the slightly shorter, wider and less curved bill, as well as the squatter, wider front of the hat. It is a comfy hat to wear in the currently sweltering temperatures we're having here in the Tokyo area. I'm not sure I will actually wear it often, however, just because of the strange fit that almost is reminiscent of the hat Janet Jackson wore in the "Rhythm Nation" video... and I'm no Janet Jackson ;-DOverall, this cap is decent quality and lightweight to wear. I'm just unsure of the weird hybrid style, and don't know if I would order it again given a second chance.

I had the blue color of this hat, but it was supposed to be like ‘tie-dyed’ in design, but only was on one half of it, making it awkward to look at and wear, but aside from aesthetics, it was a terrific hat, so when I had the chance to nab a black one, I pounced!These hats are constructed very well. I love the brim, it’s sturdy and large enough to keep my face protected from the sun. It’s breathable so you don’t get AS hot as you do with many other ‘heavier’ hats on the market.I don’t use it for actual working out, like some may, but I’m outside doing things like swimming, walking in the summer heat, taking my dogs out on walks and jogs, riding bikes with my kids, and while wearing hats quite frequently, so while I’m not in the gym, I’m still active, and I do like the lesser weight and breathability of this hat vs. many others I have that cause me to sweat more. Sweat is not attractive to me, and my face is oily as is, so anything to avoid looking like a rain puddle, or at least minimizing it, is worth the money to me!It’s an attractive, well-made hat. I definitely would buy more colors of these in the future, and would recommend them to others, as well. With this black color, there are zero appearance flaws, so with that, along with style, material and value, I’m rating this product a perfect 5 star rating! I love it!I hope that my review has been helpful :).

This hat was cute out of the package and it is definitely well made but it was not flattering for me at all. It is very boxy on the sides instead of the rounded dome that I'm used to on my other hats. While it might look better on some, it was not for me.

This is a great hat. It is light weight and the fabric is moisture wicking so it doesn't get sweaty. It has an adjustable strap on the back for just the right fit. It looks great and feels nice on my head. Overall, I really like it.

I received this hat through the Amazon Vine Voice program.LOVE it for running!! The traditional high profile front fabric is great! It stands up properly rather than hug your head like the newer low profile ones do so this actually gives more space, more air flow, and more room if you have thick hair.The mesh creates an awesome cooling effect!! I like that!! And, the plastic adjustment in the back is excellent because once I cinch this hat down to fit my head ( women's size 7 or 22 inches circumference), I can cut off the extra plastic for a sleek fit. Like this, too!!Overall, it is a good hat for exercise especially running & sweating!! And, it is designed to look like a true baseball hat!!! Therefore, this hat is precisely as advertised.

This is a nice and simple black hat. It is lightweight and comfortable. The back is mesh and the front is almost a trucker style hat. It is a snapback hat that is easy to adjust to get a comfortable fit. The bottom of the bill has a fun little design that adds some style to it.Overall we are happy with it. The quality could probably be better, but it is comfortable and looks nice in person. I hope this assists you with your shopping. I'm so bummed about this hat. I was not a hat person until I got a different hat by Gaiam and I LOVE it. It fits so well, the material is really nice and high quality, and it looks great on. Even on me, a person who typically looks terrible in hats.This hat, however, is nothing like the other hat I have by them. This one feels like it's sized for a child, and for the record I have a really average sized head. The hat sits high above my ears and the front of it is bulky, almost like a trucker hat but not quite, so it's wide and oddly shaped and just feels and looks unbalanced. It's uncomfortable, feels like it's going to come off and it looks so bad that I don't even wear it out of the house.Again, I admit that I don't typically look good in hats, but I just expected it to be more like the previous hat I purchased. To see if I was crazy, I went back and ordered another one of their hats that is more like the previous one I have (The Breathable Ball Cap in Wander Geo) and that fits much more similarly to my original favorite hat. So, not sure if they are trying a new fit style or what. But if you are considering this because you like their other hats - I would advise against it.Overall, I'm not a fan. The material is nice and the hat itself looks nice but the fit ruins it for me.
