"Bacon Betty" (nickname) is my new favorite cooking device for bacon and more
Now I can easily cook bacon without the frying pan oil splatter on my stovetop. Yippy! I looked at the other bacon makers made of plastic. Some reviewers complained about the plastic warping from overheating and being hard to clean with so many surface areas. I kept searching and found this microwavable ceramic bacon maker and I am so glad I did. I have a 1.4-cubit size microwave and this cooker fits well. I put on my oven gloves to remove "Bacon Betty" (my nickname) after cooking because it is HOT.I put it to the test with bacon, pre-cooked kabobs, veggies, Idaho and sweet potatoes. Every item was cooked for 4-6 minutes. The bacon was crisp. I followed another reviewer's suggestion to add paper towels under the lid when making bacon to catch any steam with oil droplets. This idea kept the microwave clean. The veggies and potatoes were fork-tender. I cooked squash, too. "Bacon Betty" is so easy to clean. I know I will be using this cooker on a regular basis. I am so happy I bought this and you will be, too.

Did almost exactly what I wanted it to do.
I bought this item to cook bacon. I was using another product and had to cover the bacon with paper towels to keep the microwave clean. To cook a couple pounds of bacon, I would go through a half a roll of paper towels.I wish I had found this product years ago. There is bad news, good news, and great news. The bad, it only holds 3 strips of bacon and I had to empty the grease from it 3 times but, I did cook 2 lbs of bacon. It gets a little warm so use hot pad holders. The good news is the bacon cooked beautifully and because of the lid, no paper towels were needed. The great news is that after emptying the grease into a separate container, holding either the lid or tray under hot running water cleaned off all of the left over residue. No need to bring out the Dobie pad and scrub for ten minutes. Soap, water, dish clothe. 1 minute max and it's clean.I could only be happier if it held more strips of bacon at a time.

Makes great bacon but has a bad fitting lid.
I bought this despite other reviews warning about the bad fitting lids because it was ceramic and not plastic. I was surprised at how badly the lid actually fits. There are visible gaps around the edges at the ends as the lid is not long enough allowing some grease splatters to escape during use. It was long enough for the bacon to be placed in it without folding it and it cooked the bacon well but after the 1st use, I ended up putting a paper tower over the top of the cooker before putting the lid on it to seal the gaps.

Only holds 4 slices of bacon.
This seems to work pretty well and it went in the dishwasher okay. The lid fits a little loosely and the capacity is small. I did try to layer my bacon with paper towels and was able to cook more at once but that isn't ideal for me. Pretty heavy overall but does what it claims to do.

Made bacon in the microwave and grease splatters all over the place! The red enamel quality is poor with drips and runs.Typical chinese quality.I wouldn't buy again if this one breaks.

Wonderful Dish for Microwave Bacon and More
This dish is just the right size for my microwave turntable. It is so easy to use in cooking bacon, but will be a great dish for cooking many other things. It can also be an attractive serving dish. The only bad think I can say is being ceramic, it could break if dropped. I still use some paper towels, but fewer. It is easy to clean. I use a tip from Reader's Digest about twisting bacon strips for faster cooking and crispy bacon. That way I can put a few more slices in this dish with good results.

Easy, Quick and Perfect Bacon in minutes!!
Don’t be fooled by some of the other reviews, this cooks up 8 half pieces at a time. Make sure you use the cover. Start with 5 straight minutes in the microwave, then drain the fat and put back in for another 3 minutes. If your worried about overcooking play with the timing of the last 3 minutes as it will vary based on the cut of your Bacon.Folks stated the lid doesn’t fit, know that this is by design allowing steam to escape during the cooking process. Very pleased with this purchase leaving clean-up a breeze.
