A Collector's Guide to the Savage 99 Rifle and its Predecessors, the Model 1895 and 1899

Very informative, large book! I recently began collecting these rifles, and wanted a nice book that told all about them. This is the one to get!

A first class book focused on the Savage 99. Not a book for general use but focused solely on the Savage 99.

An excellent book on the evolution and the Savage 99 series of rifles. I've collected all the information I can on the savage 99 and this has been a nice supplement to my information on my 99's.It has a lot of old black-n-white photos of a by-gone era as well as color photos of rifles, details nad of beautiful engravings on 99's Too bad the 99 was too expensive to retool and have a modern rendition made.If you're a Savage 99 buff, definitely get a copy!

This is a MUST HAVE if you collect Savage Model 1899 or 99 rifles. The book is written in a very easy to understand format with a huge number of color high-gloss photographs to use for reference. The book is not repleat with boring minutia, which often relegates these types of reference books to near useless status, but instead has just the right amount of interesting tidbits for the curious collector. I highly recommend this book!

Best Savage 99 reference guide I have found. still some confusion on the different models.

Having collected Savage 1899 and 99 rifles for 30 years I can honestly state that this is the book any 99 collector or firearm enthusiast must add to their library. There is information in Savage 99 Rifle that will enable you to verify rifles as completely correct and to instantly recognize rare/valuable models. We have waited a long time for such a publication and many thanks to David Royal for making it a reality.BillR

An excellent resource for any Savage 1899 collector or firearm enthusiast. I would highly recommend buying it now as once the first edition is sold out prices on the secondary market will soar. Understanding the tremendous variety of 1899/99 Savage rifles available is the key to collecting wisely and David Royal has done a great job of assembling and presenting this information. The text is informative and enhanced by the crystal clear photographs of some of the rarest Savage rifles in existence. You will truly enjoy owning this book.
