Tile Grip Portable Suction Telescoping Grab Bar

Sturdy, well made product BUT you do need to check it daily to ensure the suction is still solid. I've had mine for several years now and the suction has given way on at least 3 occasions, so before you jump in the shower/tub..check to make sure the handle is still secure. I bought mine because I didn't want to drill holes for a safety bar in the plastic lining of the shower stall, and this seemed like a good alternative. I never really extended the bar because it's the right size without the extensions. I do recommend this product, I am pleased with it, and it looks like it's dropped from the $90 I paid for it to $67 today, so a good buy..BUT CHECK IT DAILY.

We love it. Wife needs for post surgery assistance. I can put all my weight on it and it holds. Suggest re applying depending on your usage due to suction losing adhesion after period of time.Since depending upon this device to support weight, it seems prudent.

Very overpriced and under value

I didn't put 5 stars because I didn't want people to think this was a perfect quick fix. It requires a cleaned smooth surface and must not be across any grout lines. It must be checked to make sure it hasn't become loose. It can be fit on 4 inch tiles which most portable grab bars can not do. I would not recommend this over a permanent bar if that is possible, but in rented homes where a permanent bar is not possible it is a good option. I've tested a quite a few and if you are going to use a portable bar, this is the one to use. I would not rate any other portable grab bar any higher or even this high.

I am very happy that I ordered this, the quality is definitely higher than I expected. My bathroom is equipped with wall mounted bars; this is the first portable one I have ever had. You MUST follow directions for it to be safe.I travel frequently and many of the places that I go have not yet been able to upgrade to have handicap facilities, and while I can walk short distances I still need a grab bar in the bathroom. This bar fits conveniently into a suitcase or overnight bag!Another reason that I ordered it is because I like to cruise. Normally I have to book my cabin WAY in advance so I can get a handicap one; I just booked one for December that was a GREAT deal, but they are out of handicap cabins. I got a new scooter that I can take apart to fit thru the door (couldn't do that with my power wheelchair) and I will have this bar for use in the bathroom. Although it is useful for the toilet, it is best used in the shower as something to hold to maintain my balance.PLEASE NOTE: This bar is NOT meant to be full weight bearing! You must still have use of your legs to stand! EVERY time I use it, I stick it to the wall, and test it. I then remove it until I need it again.Overall a great product that has improved my ability to be independent!!!

I purchased this to use in the shower as a safety precaution, basically a place to grab if need be. The bar itself is of solid weight. The suction cups are large and seem strong. But I had one huge problem...the bar fell off the tile everytime I tried suctioning it to the wall. I tried cleaning the tile - bar fell down. I wiped the tile with alcohol - bar fell down. I tried the vaseline trick I read about -bar fell down. I didn't want this thing to chip my tub so I tied it off with a string and with in 15 minutes of suctioning it to the tile I'd find it hanging. After 10 tries I gave up packaged it back up and set it back. It's of no use if the bar doesn't stay and could fall on someone's toe. It might work for others but in my case it turned out to be a hazard.

We are using this product for the shower. We have 4 inch tile, and all the more affordable makes and models did not work. Yes, this one seems expensive, but it is adjustable and has excellent suction. I always check the suction, and it is always great! Very high quality product!

After much research, we bought a couple of these for my mom's bathroom tub area. We were not sure if she could handle being alone so we did not want to drill through her bathroom tiles if we need to move her out and sell this house. If she stayed in the house, we "assumed" we would need to replace these with the type that drills into the tiles for permanent use. (as I had been told suction cup bars only last a little while and can not handle a heavy weight load) Not only did these handles grip well on to the 4" tiles, she still uses them today. We remove the handles from the walls and wipe them down with alcohol every couple of months to ensure they are secure. It also helps to position them so the suction cups are on a full tile and do not cross over the grout lines Don't be fooled by the cheaper brands in the big box home stores. These are much stronger and much better made. We are all very happy with this purchase and the freedom it provides to mom.
