My warranty says only if it was purchased from an authorized seller. So if the seller on amazon isn't authorized then no it will not be honored.

It does come with a detachable heat pad.This is a wonderful product. Works far better than I expected. Love it!

Q: what is the real difference in this flat iron and the one that is $198? If you curl more than straighten with the flat iron is this one better?

I returned this one. It was quite junky compared to the first one I purchased 4 years prior. I don't recommend this item.
