Stopped working within minutes
Worked well for a few minutes and then the haze and display stopped. Only the fan continued to run.

Amazing little performer
On a shoestring budget, bought this when I couldn't rent a haze machine. Really worried because I was filming in a massive room (40 feet wide, 120 feet long, 30 foot ceiling.) I was hoping it would at least haze the area right in front of where I was filming, but this thing EASILY hazed half the space! Maybe 25-30 minutes of running to do that. Another 15 minutes and the WHOLE room was hazed. I was also worried that it would use the 1 gallon bottle of haze I bought with it, but I ran it probably 5 hours over 3 days and it barely used half of its little tank. And I only used the highest setting (3) to get the room hazed, then I dialed it back to 2 or 1 to maintain. (I used a little fan sitting right in front of the outlet to help blow the haze.) Really, really happy with it. Don't forget to buy the cleaner fluid so you can clean it when you're done. Ensuring good performance. Well done Chauvet.

Expensive, maybe. But worth it.
It's small, surprisingly quiet, but won't fill a big room (say, bigger than 30' square) all by itself. But I'd rather have two of these than one big one anyway, to more broadly distribute the haze, as well as to have redundancy/backup. The "level" setting dial on the back actually does something useful, even if it's pretty hard to get a hang of, and every room is different anyway, with regards to traffic, and ventilation.

Why CHAUVET, WHY?!
I just don't understand why companies make low-quality products for their "consumer" lineups. Unfortunately, this product is expensive, poorly built, and poorly designed.I purchased this unit as an addition to my mobile DJ setup. I was debating on buying a much more expensive ($1000) touring grade haze machine, but I figured I would give this product a try as CHAUVET has a good reputation with their professional lineup. Unfortunately, that reputation does not extend to their consumer lineup.Everything about the device was cheaply made. It started leaking everywhere almost immediately. The fan has no speed control (even via DMX) and is therefore always on (and always loud). The noise level was unacceptable in my opinion and many of the parts were plastic. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this product for the price CHAUVET is asking.Try looking at touring-level haze machines that will actually last more than one use.

Great for the money
For the money I think this is the best in the price range. The difference between fog and haze are huge for what I do. It stays longer and doesn’t move around. My only issue and it’s a small complaint for how much I’m paying is the time it takes to heat up to produce more haze, sometimes the actors can lose they’re mojo in that downtime. Again small complaint for the price point love this thing
